Taming a Party Animal (Yamaguchi Tadashi x Reader)

Hey! I'm back with another request from @Denkiiiiiii I hope you weren't expecting something very short because this is definitely not that. This is probably the longest one I've written so far but I do hope you like it. 

There are mentions of alcohol use in this one-shot, just to let you know. 

Immediately after he set foot on the mansion's driveway, climbed up the stairs and rang the doorbell with a bag of snacks in one hand and an overload of dread everywhere else, Yamaguchi knew he was embarking something he could never be prepared for.

You and Yamaguchi have been dating for a few months now. You went to one of Karasuno's volleyball matches during the spring and saw him play for the first time. Your friends were cheering for the star players on the battlefield but your eyes drifted to the substitutes, particularly when the whistle blew and a rather nervous individual to take centre stage and his team looked over with wonder. His time on the court was cut short due to one failed serve and while the crowd simply moved on as well as the team continuing their unpredictable rallies, you glanced over to the pinch server who was standing behind the rest in attempts of camouflage but you saw right through him and the tears that cascaded down and splashed on his trembling hands. Some might believe that after such a pitiful attempt, the poor boy didn't practice enough and though that might be true, from the way he reacted, you could tell he did work so hard for this shining moment. The showcase extinguished too soon.

But when there are tears, there's always hope.

After the match, you went down and introduced yourself to Yamaguchi, congratulating the team for their victory with hugs as you were quite close to the second-years in general. The boy was quite abashed by your presence but he appreciated you a lot. You two became opposite poles of a magnet from there on until he made the courageous first step to finally ask you out, and thus here we are in the current situation.

Yamaguchi pressed the doorbell several times, only for it to be drowned out by the boisterous EDM music coming from inside the mansion.

"Try knocking the door." The blonde-haired man said nonchalantly which earned a stare from his best friend. He put his plan into action and gave it three light soft knocks.

Tsukishima rolled his eyes and sighed, knocking on the door continuously and gradually getting louder in, wishing someone nearby could let them in. "Hello! HELLO LET US IN IT'S FREEZING OUT HERE!"

"Tsukki stop, you might-" Yamaguchi's pleading was interrupted with the door slamming open, causing Tsukishima to retract his hand quickly. On the other side, there was a largely- built man blocking their path as he eyed the two first-years with a serious gaze.

"What do you want?" The bodyguard asked sternly in a defensive stance. Tsukishima nudged Yamaguchi with his shoulder, urging him to speak the reason why the two of them have shown up to this inclusive house party.

"Umm (F/N) invited us. (L/N) (F/N)." Yamaguchi gulped, feeling the guard's stare drilling into his head but he was soon surprised when he repeated his significant other's name in a softer tone before a simper grew on his face.

"(F/N)...YOU MUST BE YAMAGUCHI! YES YES COME IN COME IN." The man ushered them into the house and closed the door behind them. "(F/N)! YOU HAVE SOME GUESTS."

He called out for you as Yamaguchi stayed closer beside his best friend, not knowing what to do in this unfamiliar circumstances.

"I can't believe you somehow convinced me to come here. It reeks off social instability." Tsukishima muttered under his breath but powerful enough for his friend to hear his dissatisfaction.

"I wasn't going to go by myself. This is the first social activity I and (F/N)-chan will be participating in ever since we got together. I don't want to mess things up. I feel better if you were here as well." The blonde stared at him and fixed his glasses, looking away.
