Mrs. Cheshire glared at me when I came into class late- again. She should be used to it by now. I've been doing it since day one of school and it's already the beginning of Finals. Funny isn't it how teachers never learn. Ha ha I made a pun..That was awful, and now that it never happened let's go back to the grouchy old teacher.

My name is Luka Cheshire, and I happen to be Mrs.Cheshire's daughter. I have sun-kissed skin and curly chestnut hair. My hazel eyes are normally complemented as 'unique and beautiful' but I only see mud brown. Long story short, I look boring and average.

"You need to come to class on time, especially now that we are having testing." She scolded me with cold eyes that sent a small shiver down my spine but I ignored it. What good does showing fear do? I reminded myself that I was confident and changed my thought process. I'm safe right now.

She really needs to loosen up. We arn't even testing, we have ten minutes. Wow. I should get arrested for missing the pledge. I did it in the hall, okay? Chill woman.. However, Instead of saying this and getting yet another detention I acted sad and guilty.

"Yes, m'am. It wont happen again, I'm sorry." I said looking down at the floor. My eyes began to water, with fake tears, my acting talent comes in handy in these cases. Points for the Drama nerds! I lifted my head so she could see them running down my face. Her jaw un-clenched slightly. I guess she is a mother somewhere in that hard shell of hatred.

"Fine, Now sit down Luca."she said sharply "And let's be sure this will not happen again." I grinned happily and sat down next to my friend,  Sarah.

"Thanks, Mrs. C!" I chirped and she glared, realizing she fell for my act. She decided to ignore it before she passed out our specialized Usernames and passwords.

I looked over at Sarah, my very beautiful, totally not average, best friend, who was still chuckling at my performance. "You only get away with that because she's your mother."

I scoffed "She's my mother? I doubt it. Even at home she acts like this. I'm sure I'm adopted." I flipped my hair over my shoulder like women do in movies."It's because of my drama skills!" I shouted, standing up and Sarah put her hand over my mouth, shoving me back in my seat before mother turned around looked at me suspiciously. I looked away from her awkwardly and tapped my fingers on the desk.

After all the name cards were passed out the test began.

Halfway though the test I had gained a raging headache, Decided to ignore it but the pain increased,  I saw a drop of blood land on my laptop's keyboard. My shaking hand rushed to my flowing nose. The pain became unbearable. I tried to alert someone, anyone yet the excruciating pain moved to my lungs, they felt raw and soon I couldn't get any oxygen in them. Everything suddenly stopped and all I could hear was the whistle of something falling. A bright light filled the room along with a loud BANG. Fire enveloped everyone and they were burned into crispy ash in a few seconds. Not even enough time for them to scream, barely enough time to realize that they were going to die. Yet I somehow saw the horrified look on all of their faces before they disintegrated. The school building was nearly gone, obliterated by the blast of what I assumed to be a bomb.

I ran outside the ruins to see what happened- if anyone else was alive. All I saw was fire and wasteland. A scream began to build  in my throat.

I was alone in a world of Apocalypse. Or so I thought.

The ground rumbled underneath my feet and what I assumed demons poured out. Each one looked different but all of the were armed with sharp fangs, and long, sharp claws. Their eyes where full black with  a slitted pupil in colors like yellow, orange, red and white. Like a scelera contact but real, terrifyingly real. They all sniffed the air before turning to me and smiling, revealing their veriety sharp teeth and malicious eyes glinting with bloodlust. Some began fly around me and some circled me, crawling. They all chanted in sync.
