A/N: The episode being used for this chapter is called 'What Puts You on that Ledge'.
"Hey, Sarge, so either Kev or I have to go to a training class for peddling software, right?" Ruzek tells Hank as he and Atwater stand inside of the break room.
The team is preparing themselves for a case they've received, their C.I. being an old friend of Antonio's who tipped him off about some unusual activity. Thus, the second in command detective is being put deep undercover in order to connect with another friend of his who doesn't know he's a cop.
"Uh-huh, what's peddling?" Hank asks, looking from one to the other.
"We don't know." Kevin answers.
"Which respectfully brings me to my point, I know there's been some trust issues with tech positions, but I went to maybe 3 computer courses at the academy." Ruzek says.
"Yeah, if you need to mic somebody or hook up an Xbox, I think we're your guys. We're just not really cut out for the high altitude stuff, boss" Kevin admits.
"Don't say another word. I got the perfect guy for that; Mouse, you remember when he worked with us about a month ago?" Jay asks Hank.
"I remember everything, Jay." Hank says, leaning on the doorframe of his office door.
"Alright, well then you'll recall he did a great job for us. He's a total tech wiz, you know? I trust him with my life. In fact, I have. Many times." Jay tells him.
"Bring him around." Hank tells him.
"Alright." Jay tells him.
"Dawson, let's get you ready." Hank tells Antonio who nods and gets up, following Kevin to somewhere in the back.
"Danielle, go with them so you can learn how to do this." Hank tells her, the sniper nodding and leaving her desk to catch up with Antonio who waited for her at the end of the hallway.
It doesn't take Kevin long to wire up Antonio, showing Danielle easy ways of doing it. Antonio makes sure he has his fake license and a small pocket knife inside the cuff of his left jacket arm.
"Cellphone is all wired up, that's how we'll be listening in." Kevin tells Dawson, who takes the phone and puts it into his right jacket pocket.
"You know, the last time you went deep cover for vice, you almost lost it."
Hank says as he walks in, Danielle looking at him for a second.
Antonio looks at Hank, asking, "You've never had one foot over the ledge before?"
"I just need you to look me in the eye and tell me you're ready for this." Hank tells him, waiting for the dark haired detective to respond.
Antonio loads his gun, putting it behind his back in the waistband of his pants. He looks at Hank, firmly saying, "I'm ready."
"Kevin, take Danielle and Adam with you. Let her watch and learn. Antonio, be careful." Hank orders Kevin and Antonio.
"If at any time you don't feel comfortable, let Atwater or Ruzek know. But for now, just pay attention to what they do." Hank tells Danielle softly after Antonio and Kevin leave the small back room.
"Yes, Sarge." She acknowledges.
"You know the codes, right? They taught them to you at the academy?" He asks her as they walk back to the main office.
"Yes." She answers.
"Good. Jay, help her with her vest. Al, help Adam with his, Antonio help Kevin." Hank orders everyone as they walk to the Unit garage to get their vests and weapons.
