A Grim Reminder

With orders from Aeromir, Ayers is brought out behind bars and tied up before being led back to the Chief's hall, Ayers snarled Get your filthy hands off me! One of the men who brought him replied sternly Coming from someone who sells women to dirty men.

The arrest of Ayers, and his identity as the one behind the kidnappings, spread quickly throughout the Clan. A few people who witnessed the chase and arrest did the trick in spreading the news.

I saw that Ayers being held by Chief, he did say to us that he's the one behind the kidnapping of girls.

Really, isn't he the one who lives in that beautiful and big house?

Does he have a wife? If he has, she'll be flabbergasted that her husband is a criminal.

Yes, I heard that he'll be hanged, I want to see it happen.

Me too, I have a daughter at home. I'll be glad if a criminal like him will be gone, it makes the Clan a much safer place.

Ayers is led to the room where they interrogated Kitara's abductor, he saw Aeromir and growled You did this! You brought this ruin to me! Eldon tied him up tight on a chair Save your breath, your wifey will be coming to see you.

Emerald? No, no, no! She-- please don't bring her here!

Eldon replied sarcastically Why? Are you scared of her?

She'll kill me if she found out what I did!

Emerald, wearing a long, elegant, green dress with matching hat, started up the steps of the Chief's hall. Aeromir, Sabrac, and Eldon are waiting for her. Aeromir thought upon seeing her Her name and what she's wearing matches perfectly. Eldon slyly elbowed him Hey, Chief, look at her, do you think she's trying to flirt you?

Aeromir then gave him a finger thrust just below his right ribcage that he winced in pain but smiling nonetheless.

She greeted them Good morning. They greeted back then Aeromir said Your husband's in a room, we'll lead you there. She replied He'll no longer be my husband. The three are surprised upon hearing this, Sabrac commented in a low tone as they started walking That's cold.

Eldon replied Well, Ayers and his goons will be hanging soon anyway.

Emerald only entered the room, Ayers looked at her My dear! I--it's just--I was-- She stepped forward and slapped him hard on the face! Emerald glared You scum, what did you do?! Ayers stuttered I-I was--just w-wanted to gain extra money f-f-for us.

Did you just hear what you just said? Do you need money so bad that you'll abduct girls and sell them to your friends?! Goodness, Ayers! We have a lot of it that we could probably help the Clan!

Eldon commented You hear that Chief, they have a lot of money! Aeromir answered, leaning on the wall and crossing his arms I also have a lot of money from the taxes of the people but I give them to my scouts in exchange for their efforts in watching over the Clan day and night and using them whenever the Clan is in need of it.

Ayers pleaded My love, please help me get out of this ordeal! I promise I won't do it again! Emerald replied It's not for me to decide but for me, I'll have you drowned. Besides, I don't know why I became yours - I couldn't feel you loving me the entire time, you only think of yourself, and you're playing with other women when I'm not here!
