Campus Love Affair

chapter seven

Leaving Nick's house ( which was amazing once I got to see it) was sad it was like leaving a really good friend you were just getting to know. I have to admit I was really tempted to take him up on his offer. Especially since his house mates didn't really seem to mind.

I was hoping that Cassie would be there when I got back but if she was it was no skin off my back. Nick had driven me over I wasn't sure if I wanted him to come in but I knew he would invite himself in anyway. So I just let him in.

" Well well... look who finally decided to show up."
Nothing kills a good buzz like finding your ex perched on your bed like they have all the right in the world.

" What are you doing here Ryan. " I really wasn't in the mood to deal with him.

" What do mean what am I doing here. I came so we could talk.... Alone."

" Dude if that was supposed to be some kind of a hint for me to leave....I'm not. From what I understand your not seeing each other so I have as much right to be here as you if not more. Seeing as  we walked in together and that fries isn't trying to shoot daggers at me."

I had never been happier to be around him.

"Fries your letting him call you that. And did you sleep over at his house. Did you attend like some party of something coz you definitely did not sleep here. I thought you said you hated parties. "

I hated the name fries but he didn't need to know that.

"Ok first of all yes I like the name( no I don't). It's something I Know at least I'm not sharing. Also where I am who am with and what I am doing is none of your concern. Not anymore. Besides I don't have anything to say to you and your actions were words enough. So please get out of my room."

"You don't understand that was a one time thing. I was drunk and feeling lonely. I honestly didn't know you shared a room."

" You're not even sorry for what you did, you're just sorry you got caught. "

"No that's not what I meant. In any case you're not. Any better. One mistake and you're already on to the next guy huh. "

I didn't see it coming. One minute he was in my face the next he was face down on the floor."

" Don't talk to her like that. And so what if she's dating me. She was supposed to what wait for you to be done with your floozies so you could notice her. You had an amazing thing, you lost it... boo hoo. Now piss off!"

This guy was just earning those brownie points wasn't he.

" I'm gonna go change yeah."

I didn't wait for his reply. I picked out a change of clothes and headed for the bathroom seeing as my room was completely occupied at the moment.

I was feeling a bit raw. I had loved him for so long. Even when my friends decided against hit I stuck by him. It hurt that he should reduce our whole relationship to a joke.

I got in to the bathroom and decided to take a shower. Letting the cold water numb me. I didn't want to shed a tear, not for him . I also knew right now if  I did I would never stop. I stood under the shower until I felt it was safe to come out.

" It's about time. I was thinking of switching the water of at the main pipe with how long you were in there. Wanna get a bite to eat."

I wasn't about to decline an offer of food no matter how bad I felt.

We sat down waiting for our burritos to be ready. There's was some tension between us and I knew he was curious to know everything.

"Wanna talk about or whatever. You don't have to .
We can totally ignore it."

" Nah I'm not yet at the I can talk about it freely stage. Tell you when I get there. "

" Ok no pressure whenever you're ready to talk about it I'll be here."

" Why are you being so nice to me?"

" Aw come on! I'm nice to everyone ask anyone. Besides I like you. you're like a breath of fresh air. You don't try to be someone your not. You even eat more in one day than most girls do in a week. You're laid back and chill. It's a trait that's hard to find in girls around here."

Ok minus the big appetite everything else was pretty nice.

" So what do you want to go after we're done here."

" I don't know. I was going to watch a movie before you interrupted me so I guess I'll get back to that."

" Can I join you I don't want to go back to the house back yet. There's bound to some people still around."

" What and deny them the honour of your charming personality and bubbly self for little ol me. Oh you flatter me so."

"I'll have you know that people usually bey to acquainted with me. You should by grateful I even let you talk to me. "

" Yeah people are just lining up to sign your autograph aren't they."

" Let's go before I change my mind and eat both
Burritos."

"You wouldn't dare!"

"See breath of fresh air most girls would be begging me to eat them."

I didn't know how he thought I would act. But I mean.... food come on!
Guess I knew how I was going to be spending the rest of my weekend.
Trying not to get arrested for murder.
