The Truth

Chapter One

Everyone was running frantically around the big areas. Everyone was yelling except for the employees. They spoke only to other employees in hushed tones as if they were calm and not worried about what was happening. The doors were locked almost after we were in the main area again. We all hid in different rooms which had been  a mistake. We were only little kids and could hear each other yelling for help. We managed to make our escape before it found us.

Ten Years Later

It was time for the annual cookout and this year it was being held at my house. The dark brick house had a few problems but no one really mentioned it. 'Everyone I have something to say before we eat' Uncle Daniel said which caught everyone's attention since we all knew Daniel normally didn't speak much to the entire family only a few members at a time. 'Our family vacation starts in two days however we can't leave our business without someone watching it or at least checking on it after hours. Since Haley and Clara are in Early College they and a small group of their friends will go watch the business. Now let's eat.' He said as me and Haley just glanced at each other. As everyone gathered to make plates I pulled Haley into my bedroom which our German Shepherd and Husky were staying in during the cookout. 'Who are we supposed to take?' I asked her. She reassured me we'd figure it out tomorrow. We looked similar to in many ways, such as we both had freckles, pale skin, and brown eyes. Our hair color and heights were slightly different though. After the cookout, me and Haley cleaned up and let the dogs out and showered. The next day we mainly talked about who to invite. By noon we had picked two people and decided to take the dogs. Our two people were Yajaira and Antony. I was scared to invite Antony because I had a crush on him since we met. He messaged me back after I asked if he could go saying only if he could stay tonight also since his parents were going out of town tonight. Dad said he could so we just told Yajaira to come tonight as well and tomorrow would be when we told them rules and what we would do at the business.
