the mystery rolls into town

"Hello, Hiram and Hermione. I am Mrs. Weiss, I am Cameron's social worker. She is here."

"Thank you, Mrs. Weiss. Have a cup of tea."
Hiram welcomes his new guest.

"No thank you, I am here to tell you precautions and other stuff. First of all, Cameron is very shy. Has no family. Violent past. Father was arrested for robbery and mother went missing."

Hiram nodded his head. "What do you mean by violent past?"

"Lit home on fire, claimed her 'father forced her to or she would fade away.' Also hit her mother a lot. She is 17 years old, don't you have a daughter around the age?"

"Yes, my daughter is also 17. Where is Cameron now?"

"Oh, she is in the car. Let me get her."

Hiram and Hermione were fostering for the first time. Ever since Hermosa left Riverdale, Hiram and Hermione missed having another daughter.

"Cameron? We are here, wake up." Mrs. Weiss smiles.

Cameron rubbed her eyes and yawned. Smithers helped her out of the car and took her to Hiram and Hermione.

"Hello, Cameron. I am Hiram and this is my wife, Hermione. We are fostering you for the next year."

Hiram put his hand out for Cameron to shake.

"Nice to meet you, Hiram." Cameron nodded her head and shook his hand.

"Hi, Cameron. So lovely to meet you. I'm sure you will get along just fine with my daughter, Veronica."

Cameron widened her eyes, she had a temporary sister. Great.

Veronica came downstairs holding a gift bag and smiled at Cameron.

"Oh my GLAMOURS! You are beautiful! Welcome to Riverdale. I'm Veronica Lodge."

Veronica gave Cameron a hug and Cameron hugged back.

"Thank you, Veronica. What's the scene like here?" Cameron says. The town was extremely small and this isn't Cameron's first foster home.

"A diner called Pop's which is SO awesome and lovely. A few nightclubs, a high school, sweet water lake and swimming hole, the newspaper, other places, blah blah blah." Veronica giggles.

Cameron nodded her head and looked at the Pembrooke. It was bigger than the orphanage.

"Speaking of pop's, you should meet my friends! Archie, my boyfriend. Jughead, loner outsider. And Betty, my best girl and Jughead's girlfriend. What do you say?"

"Uh- sure I guess, Smithers can you take my bag?"

"Of course, Mrs"

"Daniels."

"Miss Daniels."

"Veronica just said her foster sister is in town and she wanted to bring her here but I don't see her." Betty sighs.

"Give it time, Ronnie is probably settling her in." Archie defends Veronica.

Jughead eats his fries and sees Veronica and a gorgeous, short blonde girl next to her.

"Hi, people! This is my foster sister, Cameron." Veronica giggles.

"Uh, hey, I'm Cameron but call me Cami." Cameron says, shaking everyone's hand.

"Hi, Cami! I'm Betty."

"I'm Archie."

"Jughead."

Cameron nods her head and slides in next to Betty and Veronica.

"Anything good to order here?" Cameron sighs.

"Oh- you should definitely try the milkshakes. 10/10." Veronica suggests.

"What flavor?"

"Chocolate." Archie and Veronica say.

"What? No she obviously needs the strawberry." Jughead implies.

"You can go with Vanilla but it's your choice." Betty smiles.

"I like you, Betty Cooper. I will take a vanilla." Cameron grins.

"How is Riverdale treating you?"  Jughead asks.

"It's a fairly small town. I stayed in New York, Los Angelos, Seaside."

"Dang, is this where you want to stay?" Archie asks.

"oh my god, that would be incredible to stay in one foster home and then it became my permanent home. If Veronica's parents adopt me or keep me long enough until I'm 18, I can stay here." Cameron sighs.

"Any cute riverdale boys you've seen?" Veronica says.

"None really. I'm not into relationships, knowing that I could potentially leave here."

"Any girls?" Betty turns her head.

"Maybe. Again, not into relationships though. I did see a strapping lady at the bus station but she was from Greendale. Her name was Sabrina. Very sweet. Not into her that way though."

Jughead noticed how much Veronica and Cameron had alike.

"When do you start school?" Betty asks.

"Oh, next week."

"Jughead, you haven't said much.." Betty stares.

"I'm sorry, just been thinking."

"Well, well, well. A new girl? What's your name, pretty lady?" Reggie says.

"My name is Cami, nice to meet you?"

"The names Reggie. I'm a lady's man- and I play football. Coolest kid in Riverdale."

"Oh, shucks. Can't date you then, I don't date children." Cameron laughs.

Reggie rolled his eyes and walked away.

"Doesn't get many girls,'does he?" Cameron asks.

"Nope. Last girlfriend was me and that was last year." Veronica laughs.
