Seven years had gone by. Xiao Zhan is now 26 years old, still as handsome and charming as he was on his teenage years.
He had already made a name for himself: started his own PR company 6 years ago and had climbed up the ladder of the business elites without any of his family's influence. He is at the peak of his career and known as the lone heir to the Xiao Group of Companies which his father had already expressed and seeked his return to carry on the family business.
What more could he ask in life? He has the world on his feet. He doesn't only gets good business proposals, but also good wedding proposals from known families of conglomerates.
Only one thing is missing.
His heart which has been stolen a long-long time ago.
"It's 5 pm, I have to go!" Zhan sprang to his feet earning him a teasing-disapproving look from various faces. "Hey don't look at me like I'm escaping from work!" He bluffingly defended himself but continued his flee, grabing his coat on the way out with a wide smile.
"Yes, you're indeed not escaping! Enjoy your date night!" His secretary, Ji Li, yelled back to his retreating figure before the door closed behind him, leaving the other employees to continue their labour at the currently most renowned advertising company there is in China.
No one really know who is the lucky one who swept their Boss off his feet, as the man is too secretive when it comes to his love life, but all knew that he has been smitten too deeply that opportunities to meet up his special someone (such as tonight) is something he would never miss.
He will move Heaven and Earth, cancel all his appointments or even miss important business gatherings just to be with his love. But no one dares questions his priorities. The man deserves all those few yet precious moments with his beloved, a breather for his unrelenting hard-work. No one would deny, all of the company's success is a product of his sweat and dedication. Humble as he is, he wouldn't admit, but his employees know, without that charming and talented Boss, they would be nothing.
"Hey." Zhan peeked back at the meeting office, earning him another set of death glares from his busy subordinates. "If the Boss is fleeing, why don't you guys do the same?"
"A-Zhaaan!" Meng Ziyi, the company's head supervisor and Zhan's former University classmate, screamed in pitch high tune, "Leave before I drag your slacker ass back here and sort all of these problems!" She huffed in playful tease. "Don't forget the flowers!" She yelled again as she saw Zhan darting away from the scene.
'Date? Flowers?' Zhan giggled at the thought. How many times had he done these, yet every single time feels like the first time. His feelings are still as fresh and as bright as the first time he fell in love.
He stopped by the best flower shop he usually passes-by for this type of occasion, choosing the best, biggest and freshest flower bouquet there is, sketching dearly on the small card his heart's content.
"A plum tree this time?" The lovely shop owner approached Zhan, peeking at her loyal customer's sketch spree. "When are you actually gonna confess or at least put your name in my lovely bouquets? It has been three years!" She exclaimed, feighing a hiss.
'Three years?' Zhan shook his head counting the years of his unrequited love. 'It was more than that.'
"Shijie, I don't want to burden that person. So, let me be." Zhan gently dropped the pencil back at the counter, smiling contentedly at his finished art. "All done. Now, off I go." He said waving at the lady.
Various tarpoulins and massive digital billboards flashing bright colours welcomed Zhan at the venue. Least to mention the huge crowd, queueing on the entrance with their fanatic light sticks, buzzing like bees in excitement.
A man tapped on Zhan's window shield as soon as he had parked his car on the VIP parking lot. Zhan only said, "The usual." while handing him the flower bouquet and the man nodded, already accustomed of what to do and where to deliver the gift.
Zhan silently watched as the man walked away, eyes longing for the day when he could personally deliver those flowers and see how the receiver reacts. "That would be precious." He chanted with a heave of sigh.
He then started ruffling his hair, leaving it messy and down, covering his forehead. His round-rimmed glasses is already sitting on his sharp nose, and now he covered half of his pretty face with a black mask. "Right. Still handsome, I see." He chuckled at his self-confidence, removing his suit tie and changing his formal vest suit with a leather jacket.
Placing his hand in the pocket, he pulled out a paper with a silver unicorn logo stating, 'VIP Ticket: UNIQ concert tour'.
Amidst the 5 faces on that piece of paper, his eyes only care to stare on a single person.
"10 years and you're still holding the key to my heart." A bittersweet smile crossed Zhan's face as he caressed the picture of the love of his life.
He can still vividly recall how his eyes landed on the ethereal beauty for the first time.
The other was standing by the Wang Mansion's balcony while the strong wind blew his hair in wild arrays, eyes staring at the distance with an unfathomable icy stare and blank facial expression. He was a depiction of a beauty so flawless and incomparable. Zhan thought he'd seen an angel in pure white who might have fallen on Earth, as his face is so out of this world.
How that one single sight made cupid struck arrow on Zhan's chest, made his heart flip, and made him crave something he had never felt before.
Surreal, but Zhan felt connection beyond reason with that boy at first glance. A familiar yet strange feeling erupting from his chest, flowing through his veins, making his every cell crazy.
Curiosity grew in him which later he expressed as love. That is the story of Zhan's first and only love.
Years passed and both of them grew and changed throughout the passing time, yet his feelings, nonetheless, is still burning the same inextinguishable flame.
"My Yibo." Zhan whispered hoping the wind will carry his voice to Yibo's ears.
