Chapter 3 The BirdCage

Lyras POV

This time pinpointing the location 'farthest tower to the right' I run over to the tower and find a window the problem is that the window is ten stories up 'how to get up there' I think while looking up 'I got it. Trees!' I climb up a tall tree (about 16 stories) and stop at around the eleven stories mark and jump I catch the window sill and look inside to see three human-sized birdcages in a dark room once my eyes adjust I see that there is a kid in each birdcage but these kids they have... wings. one without restraints and two with, two with feathery wings one with webbed, two girls one boy, but all three are in cages. the door to the room opened and a tall human in a lab coat entered, they headed to the first cage witch holds the male with horns but without wing restraints and red feathery wings. he put down two water bottles then locked the birdcage they go up to the second cage that keeps the female with horns also wing restraints and black and red webbed wings they placed down a water bottle and a plate of food then locked the cage and walked over to the third cage the one that inhabits the other female that doesn't have horns but has wing restraints on her pinky-red feathered wings, and placed down two very vibrant water bottles then locked the cage and left I stand there questioning everything why are they in cages why do they have wings why haven't they said thank you I sit there with questions running through my head my thoughts were interrupted by a loud sequence of bangs then silence then a different sequence of loud bangs ran through the air. I turn around to see the male hovering in the middle of his cage while hitting the bars of his cage with his wings causing yet another sequence of loud bangs I look around the room to see the one without horns running around the perimeter of her cage hitting the bars making her unique sequence of bangs then shift my attention to the webbed winged and her cage she was doing exactly what the one without horns was doing. in between the loud banging, it seemed like are having a normal conversation when I heard a window break during one of the sequences.
