It was a hot day, and my mother had decided to drag me out of the house.
It had also been two days since the idea of giving this really hot guy that sat only two tables away from mine in the small cafe down the road my phone number had popped into my friends Natalie's head.
She begged and begged for me to do it but I just couldn't.
'Oh come on Beth pleaseeeee, I'll buy you coffee for the rest of the year'
'But... I- Nat- I don't even know how to talk to guys' I whispered yelled at her across the table. Scared that someone heard her.
'Pleaseeee it'll be good for you, you're 19 and your mind is soo innocent bub'
A soft blush made its way across my face, 'no Nat please'
'Ahh fine babe' a smile filled her face as we moved from the topic.
Nat had even made me write my number on a the torn in half receipt. But after the conversation led on I had forgotten about it.
'Beth... hello?' My mothers hand waved in front of my face. 'Ahh yeah, hmm what?'
'Dinner? What do you want?' The annoyed look in her eyes made me nervous. I didn't want to get in trouble again. 'Just something grilled please' the short reply of yeah whatever only made me more nervous.
I guess she wasn't happy again.
