"You're so handsome she's going to love you." I stood in front of the doors and he opened them for me.

"I really think she's going to murder me once she gets the chance but as long as I'm with you I think I'll be good." He was handsome, the best looking man I had ever laid my eyes on and I couldn't believe we were for each other.

For the beginning of the whole night, I had been wondering what I was going to say to him when I told him, then I looked at his face and I felt like the words would just come out in a regular calming way and he'll just sit there and be okay with it.

Everything was already getting started when we walked in and I didn't see my mom yet, she most likely was getting ready somewhere in the back and I grew excited.

"The music is great yeah!?" I asked and he admired everything in its finished value.

"Yeah, hey. You do realize this will be our first dance right?" I wasn't even thinking about that and when he brought it up I nodded.

"I can't wait to dance with you." It was such a small statement but it felt like it held so much power. I grabbed his hand and waved at my friends from behind me and dipped into the middle of the floor.

"So every year on the birthday of whoever runs this place, we have a ball. It's not really like normal, but we made a small change for you." I intertwined my fingers with him and he lifted a brow.

"You didn't have to change anything for me, it's not like you're in a cult or anything." He chuckled and then for a second I thought about that. We were kind of like a cult but not exactly.

"I mean I guess." His face went whiter than he was and looked around.

"Wait what." I rolled my eyes and slapped his arm playfully.

"Don't worry about it." I kissed his cheek and soon the lights seemed to dim and there was a small spotlight.

"Moms coming out, dad should be with her as well." I hugged his arm and he looked down at me with a smile. My mom came out in a black and brown suit with her hair pulled into a bun and minimal makeup. She didn't like a whole lot of feminine things and liked to keep it normal.

My dad, on the other hand, came out with a full face of makeup and a dress that was almost as big as mine. He took my mother's hand and kissed it gently and she looked at him.

"As we all know we have this ball, gala, birthday party, or whatever you may call it once a year on my birthday. Not just another year of life, not just another year of a forever living. But for remembering and honoring what I, we stand for. I pray that I have just one more of these before it gets passed down, but either way I'm glad to be here. We, of course, had to change some

traditions over the years and so on but this could not happen without you." The whole room erupted into applause and my dad lifted his arms.

"Now! Let the dancing, mingling, and love commence in the honor of my lovely darling." He kissed her cheek and placed his hands together.

"You heard the man, that's dance." The music was combined with my mom's favorite playlist of music played. She wasn't really into anything too crazy but she loved Rihanna and always tried to keep it under wraps about how much she was in love with her and her music.

"I have a question. Can you sing?" I asked as I held his hand and he thought for a second and shrugged.

"I can kinda rap but not really sing," I noted that and smiled.

"What can you rap?" I asked him and he chuckled.

"I know everyone claims to know how to rap it, but I can genuinely rap, rap god." I honestly wanted to burst out into laughter but he was telling the truth.
