Nobody cried nobody even noticed I saw them standing right there kinda thought they might care

Ever since I started confiding in Tom and told him about my depression, he always liked spending at least one day at my house every other weekend, just to check on me. We'd usually just watch TV, since I wasn't the outgoing type.

"Does anyone go in the pool in your backyard?" Tom asked.

"Not really. Only if family comes over."

"Do you want to go in?"

I looked up from my phone to his soft expression. "Do you have a pair of shorts?" I smiled.

"No."

"I'm sure my dad wouldn't mind if I gave you some of his."

I got up and went to my parents' room, opening the drawer on the other side of room and grabbing a pair of my dad's gym shorts.

Everything usually exhausted me. Like drawing or even making my bed in the morning. Swimming in the pool just seemed like a fun thing to do with Tom.

"Here you go." I said as I entered my room. I threw the shorts at him and started growing threw my drawers for my bathing suit. "You know where the bathroom is."

"I'll meet you in the pool."

"Alright."

I only owned one pieces. I never really like showing off my body. That's another reason why I wear jeans and a hoodie everyday. I just never liked the feeling of my arms and legs being shown all over the place.

I grabbed one of my bathing suits and shut my bedroom door.

I grabbed 2 towels after slipping the figure hugging suit on my body.

I wrapped one of the towels around me and walked downstairs with the other in hand.

"Me and Tom are gonna get in the pool, dad." I told him as I walked pass him in the kitchen. "He didn't have any shorts so I gave him one of yours."

"Ok. Have fun."

I gave him a small smile and opened the back door seeing Tom already swimming. "I brought you a towel." I announced.

"Thanks."

I hesitated to take my towel off when I saw Tom still looking. He smiled a little bit. "Could you- like, could you turn around, please. Or cover your eyes or something."

I saw Tom gradually close his eyes and I quickly slipped the towel from my body and tip toed to the pool.

I swam over to him and smiled. "You can open your eyes now."

He opened his eyes and smiled when he saw me, bits of my hair getting wet.

"What." I giggled.

His smile grew bigger. "I just wished I saw your smile more, and that I heard your laugh more often too."

"Tell that to the people who took them away."

"Why do you care so much about them?"

"I don't, Tom. It's just, they make me feel pathetic."

"I can guarantee you, you're not the pathetic one."

"Yeah, it's you." I smiled.

"Hey." Tom said pretending to be offended. He flicked his hands over the water to splash it over my face.

My mouth dropped. "That was rude."

He laughed and started to swim away. I chased after him throwing water in his direction. He began throwing the blue liquid back at me. Going back and forth with each other. Laughs escaping our mouths letting the water accidentally get inside.

"Ok Ok!" I shouted as Tom let his hands calm down. "You win." I smiled brightly.

He gently swam over to me, the water making small noises as he kicked his feet to get over.

I smiled as he stood in front of me. "Just kidding." I immediately started throwing water into his direction.

I started swimming away but I felt his hand grab on to my ankle and pull me back over. He wrapped his arm around my waist and the other around the back of my neck and spun me around.

Big laughs exited our mouths. Giggles leaving along with them.

Once I had calmed down I looked into Tom's chocolate eyes, a small smile still there.

"You know you're one of the only people who's cared enough about me." I told Tom.

"I'll stay one of them." He said, still clinging on to me.
