I stared into his starry, golden eyes, and was completely hypnotised. I sat up, bewildered with myself. He, the god of my life, continued to kiss my neck. The sun was setting and the flowers of the meadow glistened brightly. We lay there, in the depths of the deep emerald grass. I gasped. Edward stared into my eyes, and tucked some hair behind my ear. I looked at my glitter-like hands in the sunset and knotted them in his beautiful bronze hair. ‘We should head back,’ I whispered. I buttoned the first few buttons of my shirt back up, and shared the last kiss with Edward. My daughter was waiting for us… and I imagine she is impatient. ‘Yeah. I love you,’ was his final words. ‘Race you,’ I said, competitively. He raised his eye brows for a fraction of a second, and smiled evilly. ‘You’re on,’ he said, and then we were flying through the woods. I felt my incredible vampire powers spreading out behind me like the wings of an angel: my running was as wild as ever. I grinned to myself in such enjoyment, and then I realised we were here… at La Push beach. I saw two tall figures by the ocean in the tangerine sunset. I heard the two heartbeats: pure and happy ones. I stopped, and looked at my beloved Edward. I took his hands and we both nodded at each other. In a flash we were inches away from them. Jacob Black turned, and faced me in his human form. He looked exactly as he always did… beautiful. Though the wolf scent overpowered my nose and I grimaced. He smiled, and then tapped Renesmee’s shoulder. Her brown curls swayed as she turned slowly around and she looked at me with her chocolate brown eyes. She beamed at me with her full red lips. I ran towards her and hugged her tightly. Edward did the same. Jacob eyed Edward and Edward nodded, struggling to stay calm. I hugged Jacob tightly too, even though I knew something I won’t like was coming. ‘Bella, there is something me and Nessie want to ask you,’ he announced, anxiously. And that’s when I saw something glistening on Renesmee’s finger. I shook my head slightly. ‘Well,’ he wrapped his arms around Renesmee’s waist. He peered at Edward, hoping for some help. Edward turned to me. ‘Bella, there is something you need to understand. Remember our wedding, and, well, we were so happy, and nothing else mattered in the world?’ Edward waited for my agreement, though I kept frozen. He continued: ‘Well, that’s how Jacob and Renesmee feel. And- they belong together. Jacob imprinted on her. The point is, yes. Yes, Jacob wants our blessing.’ I gasped. No. No way. I suddenly remembered dimly the disapproval Charlie had against me and Edward, and the pain I felt when Charlie attempted to separate us. I hesitated. I finally nodded twice and clutched Renesmee firmly to me. ‘I love you Mom,’ she whispered. I smiled. ‘I love you too, so much. You know that, right? More than anything,’ I whispered back. She nodded, and I looked at Edward. It’s hard to believe that seventeen years has gone by, and it feels that nothing has changed. But, when you think about it, nothing has. To me, my heart beats, and gets filled more and more every day. My days of being human have gone, and my time as a vampire… is just the beginning.
