"Aww isn't our baby adorable, Charles", Marydonna asked and squeezed the little girls cheeks.
"Why yes she is simply adorable", Charles replied and rubbed his hand on his wife's back and stared at the child.
"Mom Dad, can you stop saying that", the little girl replied and tugged on her long black hair that went down to her behind," You say that everyday".
"I can't not tell the truth my dear it's not in our nature" her mom replied and handed Belladonna her small bag," and how can I not say it on your first day of primary".
Charles leaned down and planted a kiss on Belladonnas forehead," I can't believe it's finally here, I'm going to cry".
"Daddd stop please", she replied and wiped her forehead.
Her mom tightened Belladonnas skull bow-tie, and quickly grabbed a piece of hair from her black wool skull sweater that was a size too big. Underneath the sweater was standard uniform for the school, a white button up and a plain black skirt with panty-hose and black loafers.
Belladonna pushed past her parents and headed to the door of their moveable shack home, which had a giant skull head on it.
"WAIT", her mother cried out, she pulled out a locket from her pocket, it was silver and when opened had a picture of mom and dad on one side and a baby picture of her on the other," we got this for you, because your growing up so fast and we just always want you to remember that we are here with you".
Belladonna started to protest but held back because she sees that look in her mothers eyes, the look of love.
Her mother put it around her neck and latched it.
Belladonna smiled," thanks mom and dad, love you".
She gives them one last hug and walks out the door.
The outside was cold and snowy, it was winter in Talo and since Necromancers had to live outside of the main city, Belladonna had a long way to walk to school.
To past time Belladonna sang some songs her dad sings to her before she goes to bed.
"Moon comes up, black at night, just know your safe inside my heart... Hold my hand, lead you through, theirs nothing we can't get to"....
A while later Belladonna reaches the city, just a few more blocks down and she will be at the school.
A corner store sign catches Belladonnas eyes, "Coco Heeps", the light says. Her mouth waters.
She stares at the sign while passing, the temptation of it makes her stomach rumble. But grudgingly she continues on and makes it to school.
The tall blue building had grades 2-6, primary classes only, which made Belladonna nervous since she would probably be the only magic wielder there, but it was the only school around and her parents promised to teach her how to use her magic at home.
She walked up the steps along with many other students who were talking amongst themselves.
Once she reached her class, her parents kept making her repeat the room number, she sat down in the front corner seat, next to the window and hung up her bag at the other side of the room where the other kid hung theirs up.
The other kids looked different than her, some with dark skin some with light but Belladonna was oddly pale compared to everyone else, but Necromancers were usually pale and dark haired.
The other kids looked at her suspiciously.
"Hi I'm Belladonna", she said and held out her hand to the two girls who sat next to her.
One of them smiled and shook her hand, the other one looked at her with a snarl.
"Belladonna... is a name?", she asked and chuckled.
"It's a family name, my moms name is Marydonna and my grandmas is Opaldonna and my great grandmothers is Donnadonna", she explained with her fingers.
One of the girls laughed,"I'm Wea, not spelled Way spelled W-E-A", the girl replied," and that girl is my cousin Viola", and she pointed to the rude-girl.
They looked similar, both had tan skin and short brown hair but Viola had blue eyes and Wea had brown.
"I liked your names", Belladonna smiled and messed with her bangs that covered her forehead.
"Thank you", Wea replied and then the teacher walked in.
"So where do you live? I haven't seen you here before", Wea asked.
"I live in a moveable trailer up the mountain a bit, we have a lot of skulls in our house, my parents love skulls.
Wea laughed again.
Strong steps entered the classroom. The teacher was very buff looking and had a stern persona, Belladonna had never seen anyone so intimidating.
"Hello kids I am Mrs. Dumont", she said in a strong mountaineer accent," Welcome to your first day of primary".
