Everything was packed, and I was ready to leave. My stomach hurt, but in a good way I guess. I had never been so excited. It was finally the day. The day I was leaving my home for a year.
"Alex" yelled my mom down from the kitchen. "Do you come downstairs? The taxi is waiting" I smiled. "I'm coming mom, just a sec" I answered. I looked in the big mirror hanging on the wall. "Watch out California. Alex's coming" I sounded confident. I smiled to the girl in the mirror and grab my belt bag.
Downstairs my whole family were waiting for me (my parents, my little sister and little brother.) They all looked happy and sad at the same time. I hugged each one, and told them that I loved them. My siblings started crying. So promised them that I would call them over Skype when I arrived, which made them smile a bit. My dad walked with me out to the taxi. He helped me getting my luggage in the car. I wave goodbye though the car window to my lovely family. My dad drove with me out to the airport, where I was metting the other exchange students. They were as excited as I. I hugged my dad one last time and said "dad I'm going to miss you so much!" My vocie almost cracked. "I know sweety, but I'm going to miss you more. Now go" He answered and kissed me on the cheek.
The fly took forever. 14 hours to do absolute nothing, great. Luckly for me I fell asleep after talking with some of the other students. When I woke up there were 'only' 6 hours left. The others were sleeping, so I took my headphones on, and started listening to my favourite band 5 Second Of Summer, untill I fell asleep again.
"Wake up Alex" said a girl. "We're alomost there!!". I opend my eyes, and she was right. We were flying over California. I had no idea that It were so beautiful. I looked to my right side to see the others reactions. "You look tired" aaid a boy called Jack, while he was smiling to me. I looked at him. His green eyes were shining like diamonds. "I also fell pretty exhausted, even though I have slept for hours" I answered with a cute smile. I looked out of the window again, as we were getting closer to the ground.
When we all had got our luggage, said we goodbye and wished each other good luck. After that, we were on our own.. Gosh there were many people in the airport. It was one big chaos. It took a lot of time to find my host family.. But finally I found them. It was a guy with some really nice cloths, I think he was on my age. Anyway it was him there were holdning the sign saying my name "ALEXANDER JAMES" I walked over to the guy and his parents, and presented myself. My host mom called Nicole gave me a big hug, and said that they were so excited to get to know me. The boys name was Joe, and he seemed really nice. Joe and my host dad Henry, carryed my luggage out to their car. But it wasen't any just any car. It was a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. It looked like a racing car. At that moment I realized that this year was going to be better than I had ever hoped.
