-Grace-

I turned up the volume and felt the music take over my ears. I was nice to feel that I could rely on the music when nobody listened to me, which was pretty much the whole time. I heard knocks on my door and turned up the volume even more.

"Grace, just open the door, it's dinner!" My mom shouted on the other side of the door. I wasn't really hungry but I knew I needed to go down or else hell will break out in this house. I stood up and paused the music and opened the door. My mother didn't say anything just give me a warm smile and I followed her down the stairs and sat down at the dinner table. My dad sat on my right and my brother sat opposite from me.

"Hi, love" My dad said as he saw me. I smiled at him and began eating on the chicken that was already on my plate. The dinner was quite until my mother spoke up.

"So Ashton, how was school?" She said and looked over to my brother. I haven't been to school in about a week, I said I was sick but I really couldn't stand talking to people and be in a social environment. I felt tired and all I wanted to do was stay at home and listen to music and read.

"It was alright. Me and the boys stared playing in the music room today, so that was fun." My brother answered as he put some peas in his mouth. He always had many friend and was a real social butterfly and then there was me. But we wasn't full sibling so maybe that was the explanation. We had the same mother but not same father. His dad left my mom and him when he was about two and mom met dad and I came 3 years later him. So we kinda left like full siblings even if we're very different.

"What? Are you going to form a band or something now?" I said a bit careless.

"Yep" He said pretty proudly and I sighed. Of course he would be the one that my parents would be proud of and I'm just a depressed mess. "They're coming over tonight to watch a movie or something by the way." He continued.

"How fun! shall I buy you guys anything? I'm going to the market right after dinner." My mom said and smiled as wide as she always does. She is really a happy lady. Sometimes I wonder if she really is that happy or if she just pretend.

"Yeah, some beer and chips, please" My mother nodded and walked over to kitchen with the dishes.

"You can buy some beer to me too, mom" I said even though I knew she wouldn't do it.

"Haha, honey, you're just 17 so you can just forget that" She said with a little laugh, even though I couldn't see her, I knew she smiled. But she didn't know what I planned for tonight. My dad stood up went over to the kitchen to help mom with the dishes and left me with Ashton.

"Stay away tonight, okay?" He said coldly.

"Ehm..I don't want to be with you and your gross friends so you don't have to worry about that." I said.

"So what are you even going to do tonight. I really don't what to get you in the middle of the night at some ghetto bar on the other side of town." He said a bit angry. I knew I didn't belong on a bar in the middle of a friday night, but I felt like I could be someone else as I went out.

"As if you care." I said and left the dinner table and ran up the stair to my room. I could hear Ashton sigh as I ran off. As soon as my parents went to bed(Which was pretty early on fridays since they always has activity planned on saturdays) I sneak out and start my night adventure. Same every week. I decided to read and listen to music for the rest of the evening. I crawled in my bed and stared reading. When I had read in over two hours I heard the front door open and followed by three boy voices. I really didn't need Ashton's friends here as well, Ashton was annoying all by himself, and now I've got three copies of him in my house. My door swung open, it was my dad.
