The five year old stared blankly at the flames that engulfed her home, destroying everything left of her innocence. Her hand lingered on the warm locket trying to find some sort of comfort in the harsh winter air.

Where did it go wrong?

"Aloha ʻoe, aloha ʻoe."

Her mother cupped her cheeks, kissing her forehead. "Listen to me, Darling. Mama loves you so much."

"Mama get up please. We can still go and come back for papa and Ta-chan." She sobbed, trying to pull her weak mother. She slipped on the ocean of blood that filled the living room. She landed with her face centimeters from her dead sister's body.

She let out a horrified cry as she crawled away and towards her mother.

"No matter how hard it is, please continue to live." Her mother requested. With a tearful smile, she pushed her child through the front door just in time.

The ceiling collapsed, burying everything and everyone inside.

"E ke onaona noho i ka lipo."

She continued to sing as she forced her battered body to get up. She wiped the tears on her chubby cheeks, smearing and mixing it with the dust and dirt.

She walked aimlessly down the street, desperate to run into anyone who can help. The white snow was tainted red with the blood that dripped from her body. She didn't know whether it was her blood or one of her family's.

"One fond embrace."

She collapsed to the ground as her mind barely stayed conscious. She forced her aching arms to drag her limp body through the thick snow. The adrenaline in her system faded as she could feel all the pain and fatigue hit her.

Where could she go? Who would help someone like her?

"What's this?"

The boy grabbed her by the neck, tilting his head as he studied her features. He noticed her still breathing and grinned. He too was covered in blood which she assumed was not his. He tightened the grip around her neck, but the girl still continued to sing.

"A hoʻi aʻe au."

He hissed as he bared his fangs at her. The veins around his eyes bulged out, turning a dark blue. His bright pink eyes bore no emotions as he brought her neck closer to him.

I'm sorry, mama. I'm sorry, Ta-chan.

"Until we meet again."

"Kill me, please."
