I unwrapped Bey's arms from around me before stretching my limbs out and heading to the bathroom. After handling my morning duties I headed downstairs to get started on breakfast. I know last night me and Bey discussed taking Halle shopping to get her more things seeing as how she will be living with us now.
I walked in the kitchen and turned the light on.
"Oh shit, you lowkey scared me" I chuckled looking at Halle sitting at the counter. She slightly laughed.
I looked to see that she was writing in a journal, with a cup of tea beside her.
"How long you been up?" I asked.
"Since about 6am" she shyly answered. I looked at her with wide eyes and she laughed. "I know I'm a early bird"
"Are you hungry? I came down here to make breakfast for everybody" I informed her.
"Yeah I could eat. Heads up, I am a vegetarian" Halle informed me.
"Really?" she nods her head. "I always wanted to try to become a vegetarian, but I love bacon way too much." we both laugh. "I'll just make you a veggie omelet, a waffle and some fruit, is that cool?" I asked.
"Yeah that's great"
I nodded before grabbing the ingredients to cook. We both sat in a comfortable silence. I wanted to start a conversation but I didn't want to make Halle feel uncomfortable in any kind of way. Especially knowing her history with men. The fact that she is sitting down here alone with me is a big deal.
"Shawn" I turned around. "Can I play some music from your phone?" Halle asked.
"Yeah, no problem" I grab my phone from the counter and hand it to her.
Halle begins to play 'Sittin Up In My Room' by Brandy and I was genuinely shocked.
"What you know about Brandy?" I playfully asked.
Halle smirks. "I love old school R&B. It's my favorite music, it just never gets old to me"
"Who are some of your favorite artists?"
"I love Brandy, En Vogue, Usher, Mary. J Blige, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Jodeci. Just to name a few"
"Oh you really a old head at heart" we laughed. "So you don't really vibe with none of the newer artists?"
Halle shakes her head. "It's a couple here and there but not really. The music today doesn't have much substance. It's just a bunch of nothing being said over catchy beats."
"You know this is the most I've heard you talk so far"
Halle slightly blushes while holding her head down. "I'm just really passionate about art, in all forms."
"We definitely gotta make sure we get you into a performing arts school."
"Do you think BB is going to let me stay with her for that long?" Halle softly asked.
"Halle I know you and her have just met but she loves you already, and she is going to do everything in her power to make sure you feel safe and loved. Because if their is one thing your sister is great at its helping people. I'm a true testament to that."
Before she could respond Bey walks into the kitchen with Aimee in her arms.
"Good morning" Bey said while placing Aimee in her high chair.
"Morning babe" I respond while giving her a peck on the lips. "Morning chipmunk, yerrrrrrr" I obnoxiously yell.
"orning daddy, yerrrrrrrr" Aimee yells back.
