I blinked open my eyes and looked around the room. I found myself relieved when I found out that I knew where I was. I smiled and jumped out of bed opening the door and into the living room, I tripped over something and hit the floor with a hard thump. I closed my eyes, my head was throbbing with pain as I laid on the floor, one hand on my head, the other pushing myself to a sitting position. I sat up and looked around to see what had tripped me, nothing was there. I pulled my hand away from my head and used it to push myself up to stand. I stood up looking around. Nothing was there? Then what had tripped me? I peered around the corner of the wall into the kitchen, there were two little bowls sitting there on the floor. One containing little pieces of food, the other was filled with water. I looked over into another corner there was a little animal like bed sitting there, it must have been new... the tag was still dangling off the side of the bed. I lifted my head when I heard the patter or paws on the ground. I watched as a little black cat with green eyes peered around the corner and walked in as if it owned the place. I walked over to the cat who seemed very friendly when she came and rubbed her head against my hand. I stroked he soft black fur as I gently picked her up. She was purring. She quickly hopped out of my arms when a door opened and Drake stepped through, he looked down at the cat and stepped over her. He looked down at me as I sat on the kitchen floor looking up at him.
"How long was I out this time?" I asked.
"Not long, you were asleep for about seven hours so it seems you've slept well."
"Who found me in the woods?" I asked.
"I did, I followed the footprints leading into the woods and assumed you had left in the middle of the night because you were convinced a walk around would put you to sleep." He guessed correctly.
"I was knocked out." I told him.
"I know, when I found you there was some blood on your forehead, and guessed you had met up with him again." His guess was correct..... again.
"I'm just glad your ok," he said holding out his hand as an offer to help me up. I grabbed his and and hauled myself up.
"So what is with the cat?" I asked as the cat scurried into the kitchen mewing.
"Well last night had you in my arms and when I opened the door she came out of the bushes and ran inside, I thought you would like her." He was correct once again, I was already growing to like the kitten more and more.
"she is a very happy cat and I'd love to keep her." I said while I looked down as the kitten.
We never really named the kitten we usually just called her Kitty. She was adorable and energetic. I stood up leaving her to eat her food and sat on the couch next to Drake, who was watching TV. I suddenly felt a wave of tiredness sweep over me. I laid down and set my head on his shoulder, for once I felt as though I might get some sleep. I was almost asleep when I felt little paws walking across my legs and all the way up to my face, she was licking my face with her rough tongue. I opened my eyes, suddenly wide awake. I looked down at the cat,
"I was almost asleep." I told her. She looked up into my eyes and started rubbing her head on my hand. I started stroking along her back and looked over at Drake, he was asleep. Or I thought he was.... I was getting up when he asked,
"Your not going our are you?"
"No. Not now." I told him.
He looked over at me, I could tell he was tired. I just laid my head back on his shoulder before he could say anything else. The kitten curled up in my arms and I after a while I finally managed to fall asleep.
