Seigi no Mikata is the Japanese word for allies of justice.
In this world, the sanctity of this word has been disparaged.
Religious texts says that good Samaritans shall be rewarded when they go to heaven but, what they don't say is that they are the object of ridicule on earth, especially in high school.
High School is the dreadful time when people have the body of adults, the mind of toddlers and the belief that they are the messiahs of this world.
And then they got to college, trip on a bottle of vodka and get cut by the very rose- tinted glasses that have been clouding their vision.
Luckily, mine came off at the age of ten. Although when I tripped I didn't fall into glass, I fell into a pile of my little sister's blood.
Red liquid spewed on my face, it took a few seconds for me to register that it was blood and to see Aoi writhing on the ground .
I go back to the dream every night to see myself wipe off the smirk from the face of the psycho who tore my life apart.
In high school, they asked us to describe our lives with just one word. Mine is vendetta.
The world around us moves at a fast pace , events of great magnitude take just a blink of the eye to manifest, and chaos is not too far behind.
Everyone is too wrapped up in their lives to do something about the underlying monstrosity.
Childhood is so precious because it is the only time when you are blissfully unaware of what the world has in store for you.
Unfortunately for three of us, childhood was short, for the fourth , it was life that was short.
People look back at childhood with nostalgia and longing, I look back with disgust at my infirmity.
But today, I shall bring deliverance to her soul.
I plan to avenge my sister in the altar of justice, to fight for a noble cause, to give many people who are on the brink of death what my sister couldn't have- hope and possibly, normalcy.
But before that, let me take you back to how things started .
Five years ago, it was Aoi's tenth death anniversary , my thoughts were clouded with memories of her when I saw a figure clad in black reclined on the wall across the street.
I stopped dead on my tracks.
I felt time loop backwards to the playground where I saw a blond- haired boy stare at me from the top of the monkey bars: Taylor who worshipped the ground that she tread , whose brash voice turned soft when it came to Aoi.

A figure emerged from the shadows and called me X, a name I had buried in the past with my sister. I turned back to find a girl who had stood precociously at the edge of the sand pit and gazed at me with dark brown eyes. Eyes that had sparkled with mirth were lifeless now as Mika's face wore a polite, terse smile.

We stood for a few minutes as a heavy silence descended on us.
Our eyes blankly staring into the distance as we went back to the laughter and merriment of the past which died away as we shuddered and remembered the flash of metal and blood that followed it.
The cackles that maniacally echoed through the dark alley as we stood transfixed in horror. Have you watched a flower being thrown into the furnace, that's how my heart-felt then.
Suddenly something crashed into me from behind and ten long nailed fingers tightly blocked my sight and a loud voice hollered down my ears bringing me back to the present.
"Hi, I'm Jill" she proclaimed to Taylor and Mika.
I carefully pried the fingers from my eyes and turned to face my date for the evening, dressed in pink and heels.
"Come on we need to get there before the crowd comes, I hope you guys like pizza" she said , grabbing Mika's hand and marching down the street.
Taylor and I trailed behind as Jill launched into a unprompted monologue of how she and I had met.
