Chapter 21: Magic Part I

Aidens's P.O.V.

As I pull into the driveway I hear the workers running around frantically. I got out of the car and asked one what is happening. She replied that someone broke in the house a little before we got there. I had a shocked expression on my face. They would have to be pretty powerful to be able to get pass my beast guards, all 15 of them.

I then proceeded to ask what they wanted. She said, "They really didn't say anything much, but their "leader" was asking about her son *whatever that means*"

My body froze and everything started turning black as my limbs felt like jelly.

I woke up in my bed with everyone around me. I quickly began to panic.

"We Need To Get Out Of Here!" I shouted. Everyone had a surprised or confused look on their faces. Kody looked at me.

"W-What do you mean?" Everyone else nodded at the question.

"Kody, y-your mom. I didn't think she'd come herself but she did. While we were gone, she broke into the house to try to find you. Luckily we were not home. She might still be around, knowing we would come back.

She is a strong witch, maybe even stronger than me I probably would never be able to beat her on my own..."

"Hey everybody, can you leave for a minute,m. I need to talk to Kody in private." I kindly say. Everyone obeyed and left, with Lumine closing the door behind them.

"Kody?"

"Yeah dad?" He stuttered.

"There is only one way to get rid of your mom. But for now, there is only a few things we can do..." I pause. "I don't know If will work for sure, but with some proper training and exercises, you might be able to learn magic..."

I watch as his eyes start to light up. He smiled, something he usually doesn't do. It quickly vanished a few moments later.

"But you said it yourself. That I will probably never be able to use magic. What makes you think I can do it now?"

"I said that to you to protect you. I didn't want to get your hopes up and have nothing happen. I now realize that I shouldn't have done that. If I wouldn't have done that, you might have already been able to use magic.

But now your older, and you've already come to terms with it. And now you no longer have the spirit anymore. I really think you can do it Kody." I smile at him, still trying to be sincere.

"If you really think I can, then I'll give it a try." He happily said as he hugged me. I rustle his hair as he walked to the door—

"Wait!" I say right before he closes the door.

"What now." He said monotony.

"Pack your bags. Me, you, and Lumine are leaving tomorrow morning. I don't know if your mom will come back, so I want to leave just in case. Please tell Lumine too. You can go now."

He walks out of the room as I pull out my laptop to email someone.
