I close the door to my sleeping chambers, quickly running across my room slamming the curtains closed. My skin began to burn, as the first light of dawn shone through the windows. I sigh in relief as I throw my outer coat to the floor.

My jaws began to ache as my stomach began to growl, I looked at myself in the mirror. My complexion was growing paler, I needed to feed and soon.

"Master, your drink is outside the door."

I listen as Romas footsteps disappeared down the hall before I opened the door, grabbing the cup of dark liquid. The metallic scent washed over me, forcing my stomach to growl in hunger as I put the rim of the cup to my lips. The feeling of the warm liquid ran down my throat, waking my almost dead body. I drink the last drop and wipe my lips, placing the cup back outside my door.

I don't bother stripping my clothes as I lie down in bed. My body was exhausted from restraining myself around Samara and that guard of hers. My mind was still reeling over the deaths of the queen and king.

Though, even in a state of utter despair, Samara was just as beautiful as her portraits. Actually, those paintings did her no justice as her beauty was unworldly.

As my mind continued to think about her, I soon found myself falling into a deep sleep, pushing away todays thoughts.

I finish tying my shoes as a bell begins to ring. I quickly jump to my feet and make my way towards Samaras room. It had been a month since me or that boy named Lance had talked to her. The only reason we knew she was alive was due to her mournful cries in the dead of night.

I don't bother knocking as I swing the door open, my eyes fall on the shattered vase scattered across the floor. My eyes floor the scattered remains of the vase until my eyes land on Samara. Her dark hair was matted to her face with sweat, her eyes sunken with dark circles. Her bright golden eyes now dim and lifeless.

I quickly kneel by her side and rest my hand on her shoulder, her skin cold to the touch.

"Samara, are you ill?"

Her eyes slowly meet mine, pain was floating in those dull golden globes as tears slide down her sunken cheeks.

"I cant think of anything but them, how could someone take my familys life. Are they going to kill me as well?"

Her voice was weak and shaking as she grabbed ahold of either side of my shirt, putting her face into my chest. I rested my hand on her head and sighed as she quietly sobbed into my chest. I sat with her till she passed out, her chest slowly rising as it looked like she was finally resting after days of no sleep.

I brushed her hair from her face as i pulled her into my arms. The poor girl had just witnessed her family be slaughtered, everything that was hers, that she'd grown to love and cherish went up in flames in a single night. My heart ached for her as i carried her towards my room. Letting her sleep alone was no longer an option. She was suffering and need someone to lean on.

"Princess!"

I watch as Lance runs towards us, panic painted his face as his eyes fell on Samara.

"What happened to her?"

"Greif."

His face falls as he steps aside. That simple word was more than enough for anyone to understand in this life. I push the door open to my chambers and gently lay Samara on to the bed. I pull the cover up to her shoulders. Making sure she is comfortable before sitting on the sofa.  I reach into the draw in the table beside me and look over the notes I've gathered about Samara and her family, along with her enemies.

Over the month, me and Lance had come together to figure out who was behind their murders. As Lance had stated it could be Lillians original home, before she was found worthy of Victor Lionheart. He home village was full of hired assassin's, thieves, and con merchants. When Victor found Lillian he took their queen away. If our assumption was correct the Dragun family was behind their murders, even Samara said to Lance in a state of rage and grief shed kill those dragon bastards. At least thats what he told me.

i look over at Samara and sigh, i just needed her to get on her feet again to help me find those who burned her world. The poor girl was still ignorant to who her family is, which is no help, but if she say even one of those assassins, it would help us greatly.

"Im so sorry.."

My eyes fell back on Samara as she mumbled in her sleep. I quietly rose to my feet and made my way over to her. Tears were once again coating her cheeks as she slept. My heart went out to her as she slept, clearly trapped in her final moments with her parents. I placed my hand gently on her forehead and smiled softly.

"We will make this right, my dear."

I breathed before leaving the room. I prayed to the lords shed sleep well, forgetting that terrible night. Even if it is just for one night.

"Ah Lance."

I smile walking down the stairs towards him. He looks up from his cup and smiles.

"Prince, have you found anything new?"

I shake my head as i hand him the notes ive collected over the month.

"Anything and everything i knew or could find of either queen Lillian and King Victor is all here,"

I state pointing to the notes. Lance nods his head as we make our way into the study. We review my notes. Adding and taking away any information needed, the more we looked it over the more we began to realize, we were at a stand still. The person at this estate who could help, was currently grieving and no where near able to help.

We both throw our heads back and sigh, in frustration and annoyance. We were clearly getting no where.

"We have to talk with the princess."

Lance groan stating the obvious. We both knew we needed too, but neither of us wanted to do so. Neither of us wants her to have to help investigate her own parents death.

"Well we could just ask her if she's-"

"Princess! You're up?"

My head shot up to the entrance way revealing a clearly somewhat more alive version of Samara. Though she still looked clearly in desperate need of food and sunlight, her eyes shone a bit more brightly compared to this early morning. i felt a small tug at my lips upon looking at her, finally seeing her up and walking around.

"Yes, i actually had a fairly decent dream this night."

Her voice was still shaky as her eyes fell on me, a smile pulled at her lips.

"That you Adrian, for helping me."

I dont offer anything but a nod of the head as her cheeks turn a shade of pink. I lower my head hiding the smile that was plastered on my face, who knew i could make her blush in such a way.
