Chapter 5: We Just Clicked

"Cause all I know is we said 'hello', and your eyes looked like coming home, all I know is a simple name. Everything has changed." -Everything Has Changed Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran

"It's that simple. I don't know how to explain it. We just clicked." I said, annoyed at my best friend. She had yet to kiss and make up with Max, so instead of talking about her love life we were talking about my non existent one. It really wasn't all that interesting, but to her it was like winning the lottery.

"Can you at least put it into words what happened?" she asked, getting annoyed. I rolled my eyes. She was getting really annoyed that I wasn't answering her questions. But I wasn't going to spill the beans that easily.

"How am I suppose to explain this?" I asked, sighing. Trying to tell her we-just-talked-all-night isn't going to go over very well. She won't believe it. I sighed. "We just talked all night." I said, exasperated.

"Talked? That's it? There was no first kiss? Not even a hand shake?" She asked me, throwing her hands up. I rolled my eyes again. We were over at my house, in my room, having this discussion. We sat criss cross apple sauce, facing each other.

"Yes, talked. Ever done that?" I joked, sarcastically. "No first kiss. Nothing like that. Gosh, when was the last time you just talked to a guy?" she gave me the look that instantly told me it was Max. I sighed depressingly. This fight was never going to end.

"Will you just tell me all ready?" she exclaimed, annoyed. I sighed, exasperated. I was beginning to realize I wasn't going to be able to weasel my way out of this.

So I explained how we met, how we talked, and how we clicked. There really wasn't much explanation to it, she just made it seem like a big deal. I explained as much as I could, but there wasn't much she didn't already know. When I finished talking, we went into the kitchen.

"Chinese?" I asked Electra, digging to find the sticky note with the number on it.

"Do you even have to ask?" she joked. Once I discovered that the sticky note was right in front of my face, I pulled out my phone and called the number.

"Hello, this Claire, order when your ready." I heard Claire say boredly through the phone. I rolled my eyes at her tone. There always like this. I quickly ordered some food, making sure to get orange chicken(it's my all time favorite). Electra and I went back to my room to wait for the foods arrival.

"Shall we listen to music, Lady Electra?" I asked in a posh British accent. I had perfected a British accent over the years. Hey, don't judge. When you want to go somewhere bad enough, you learn to talk like them. It was really simple.

"We shall, Lady Katerina." she said, changing my name to Katerina and also speaking in a posh British accent. We laughed as I put my phone on my iHome, clicking shuffle. Usher's Numb came on. I smiled. I absolutely loved this song.

Electra and I danced around my room to the music. I giggled girlishly, but so did Electra. We danced and laughed until we heard the doorbell ring. I walked over and cranked up the music, then danced down the hallway to the front door. I opened it, wallet in hand, and paid the lady. She looked at me weirdly, but just handed me my food and left. I laughed. I loved making people think your insane. I danced back into my room, food and wallet in hand. I handed Electra her rice(silly girl doesn't eat cho mean), and plopped down on my zebra print bean bag chair. Yes, my room is mint and zebra print. I already explained how I was insane, did I not?

Electra and I made small talk about little and stupid things while we ate. Until, that is Give Me Love by the one of greatest artist in the world, Ed Sheeran. I absolutely loved this song, although the video was a little weird. I got up and danced around my room for a minute by myself before I dragged Electra up. We both danced crazily around my room. Jumping, spinning, twirling, and doing crazy dance moves we learned from our dance teacher. Electra and I took dance together, so we new each others dance moves.

Once the song ended, and Electra went home, I went to sleep. It had been a long day. Electra had dragged me out to the beach, she said 'to work on our tans'. Pfft, she's not one to talk. She has a perfect tan, while I've only got a slight tan. And had to earn that tan.

I stared at my best friend shocked. She had just told me, my mind couldn't even grasp it, that, nope. I can't say it.

"I'm flying to London?" I asked, in complete and utter shocked.

"Well, not by yourself your not." she said as if it we're obvious. I rolled my eyes. I knew that.

"I know that. You guys would be idiots to send me into a completely different country. I mean, this is me we're talking about here. I get lost on a daily basis." I said, half joking, half serious. Electra rolled her eyes and mumbled a 'that's for sure' under her breath, but I still heard her. I glared at her. She held her hands up innocently. I simply rolled my eyes, again.

"Yes, your flying to London. And Electra will be coming with you. Max couldn't come because his parents won't let him." I sighed at my moms words. Max's parents had always been strict, not even letting him out of the state. I know that sounds extreme, but Electra and I have been out of the state tons of times. And Max is stuck here, by himself. Mom then continued, cutting me out of my thoughts. "And your leaving in tomorrow, so you better go get packing. That means your going home Electra." my mom said. I nodded frantically, realizing I only had day to pack.

Electra left, running out the door. I ran upstairs and into my room. I grabbed my large mint zebra striped suitcase from my closet and set on my bed. I quickly unzipped it, and ran back over to my closet. I stopped, realizing I did't know what to where. I fished my phone out of my pocket of my jean short shorts. I also wore a white blouse and cream lace oxfords. I Googled the weather in London. Summer, huh. I sent a text to Electra alerting her about the weather change. I then began the packing process. I pretty much everything that would fit in that suitcase. I grabbed my phone and called my mom, because I couldn't abandon my packing. She picked up on the third ring.

"And your calling because?" my mother asked. Well, that's just nice of her, I thought.

"Because I can't abandon my packing. Now, how long am I packing for?"

"I was hoping you wouldn't ask." she said with a sigh.

"Mom." I groaned. "I need to know how much clothes to bring."

"Just pack a lot." she said, then hung up. Wow, mom, thanks for your help. I sighed, annoyed at how vague my mom was being. I walked over to where I had piled my clothes and began the folding process. I folded everything and put it neatly in my suitcase. After doing that, I grabbed my undergarments. I slipped them into the zipper compartment of my suitcase. I grabbed a swimsuit as well, just in case. I packed a them and then started on shoes. I packed, like, every single pair I owned. Which isn't that much, need I say. But I'm a girl, so I have a good amount of shoes.

After packing for about another hour, or what felt like it, I finsihed. I heaved a sigh, flopping out on my bed. I had moved my suitcases to the floor, so I wasn't laying on them. I'd been laying down for less than a minute, when my phone rang. I groaned obnoxiasly load, and searched my bed for where I'd thrown it while I was packing. I finally hit something hard and rectangular. I grabbed it and pulled it to my, clicking answer along the way.

"Hello." I said tiredly into the phone.

"Glad to know your excited to hear from me." the male voice said. I hadn't bothered to look at calller ID, so I had no idea who it was. I looked at my phone and saw who it was. I gasped. I never thought I would hear from him again. He left us after all.

My dad.
