I remember when this novel was supposed to be a seven-chapter short story based around one word. How much it has grown since then. Now, I'm presenting Departed to you all in the hopeful form of a professional book on a website for fledgling/fanfiction writers. There are so many people I want to thank, but this is only the beginning note. Thank yous can come at the end.
There is one thank you I need to give here, and that is to everyone who decides reading my story might be worth their time. I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I loved writing it.
There, of course, needs to be a few warnings before you speed into the story.
1. There will be blood. While I'm not the type to try and write something utterly grotesque, I am writing the characters as real people (not in their usual Lego form), and therefore opted to make the battles a bit more realistic. Other than that, the story is pretty clean. There is no language or adult themes.
2. This story was started before March of the Oni was released, and I didn't watch Seasons 11 or 12 until it was almost finished. As of right now, Season 13 hasn't been released yet. Because of my ignorance of what happened in the later seasons, there will be little if not any reference to them in the story. Besides, Harumi wouldn't know if these events happened. She's dead after all.
