Word count: 4846Every girls prayer is to get married to someone they love, isn't it?, then why could my own family not understand me then, this thought always comes back to me even after everything I had been through and even finally getting what my prayers have been all about through out my life, to marry someone that loves me.
My husbands name is Jamil, he is the most loving and caring husband, we have two children, twins actually, Halim and Halima, they're three years old, everyone adores them. My husband and I live with his mother and twin sister who is getting married in a months time. A lot of people have asked me how I live in the same house with my in-laws, they found it weird and didn't believe me whenever I told them they were the sweetest people on earth and I couldn't be more happy about having them as my family, but I didn't care about their opinion, it wasn't relevant. Its not like I didn't have any family, I do have them but my mother and my brother weren't fond of me, my father too although he died six years ago, the only person that liked me was my sister.Everything went down seven years ago, I was sitting in my room in my parents house when both of my siblings rushed in. My brother had a smirk on his face and my sister looked really concerned, they were twins but had different perspective. Aysha was nice and caring, while Aysar was mean and full of arrogance, he never liked me, he and mother always teamed up to make me feel miserable.
"Haneesah, we overheard daddy telling mama he was going to get you married". Aysha says and I gasp, no, this can't be happening.
"What, are you sure you heard right Aysha?". I asked not believing her, they might just be trying to prank me.
"Just as i expected, you look pathetic. I only came here to see your expression when we broke the news to you and I wasn't disappointed, I can't wait for you to finally leave this house". Aysar says, I was about to tell him off when I heard Mama shouting my name, telling me to come to the parlor. Aysar laughs.
"I have dibs on her room when she finally leaves". He tells Aysha and goes out slamming the door.
"I'll talk to him haneesah". She says and I just nod, knowing the talk won't make any difference, I had better things to worry about than Aysar.
"I doubt daddy will force this marriage on you, Hanee". Aysha tells me.
"Yeah, you're totally right, daddy will never go as far as to force a marriage on me". I say agreeing with her, I felt a lot better with this small talk we had, i prepped myself then left to the parlor. I greeted them as I entered and sat on the floor.
Daddy clears his throat and started talking about how much I've grown, what I have achieved so far and also about my current job as an accountant, as soon as he mentioned work, my thoughts drifted to my boss that I tried to make him notice me for basicay since I started working there which is for two years and he recently did, he asked me out on that week and but I was yet to reply him yet, I completely forgot about where I was till I heard my name." Right haneesah?". I replied with a yes because I didn't hear a word he said.
"Excellent, I knew you wouldn't say no to marrying Mallam Abdullahi's son". What?
"Daddy, no, i-i don't want this marriage". I say as quick as I could.
"What do you mean?, I went out of my way to set you up with my friends son who everyone knows as a very good boy, he agreed to it and he's going to get married to you in few months time". He tells me
