Elena's P.O.V

I'm Elena Hudson, 14, living in Edinburgh. Eat. Sleep. Shopping. Leisure. Reading. Internet. Repeat. That is my usual life. I don't have a social life. Who the hell cares? I'm shy, and sometimes, mean. I don't have any friends or someone to talk to except my family, of course. Internet friends, I guess. I can't even consider them as my friends because I haven't seen them in person. I don't have siblings, but I don't care. I'm happy. I have my mom and dad with me. They buy me anything I want. It's an advantage. My parents are very strict. That's a disadvantage of having no siblings. They never allowed me to go somewhere all alone. They said that I might be kidnapped and might be sold for ransom. We live in luxury; I'm not bragging about it. My parents usually insist that I should interact with other people because I might get depressed. I was like, 'Why the hell should I interact with other people? It's just a waste of time.'

My life has changed when I met someone. I met him when I got lost somewhere in Aberdeen.

Here's the story of how we met...

"Pack your things. We will go to Aberdeen and we will stay there for one week. We have some business matters to discuss. You'll come with us." My dad said.

"Ugh! I'm tired of travelling around UK. Can we go somewhere else? It's been a week since we last travelled to Manhattan and Paris." I said, sighing.

"Not right now, dear, this is very important." He said, patting my head. Dad, I'm not a dog, ugh. I had no choice so I did what he said. I went to my room and started packing my things.

The next day...

I got up from my bed and went to the dining room. "What do we have for breakfast?" I asked my mom. "Pancakes, your favourite, sweetie!" My mom said, smiling widely. It's pretty swell. I sat down and ate my pancake. My mom handed me a glass of orange juice and a yogurt with some strawberries and blueberries on top. We ate together. I took the last bite of my pancake and went to my room. I took a bathe for not so long, maybe 45 minutes or so, and then blow-dried my hair. I wore my favourite floral dress and and paired it with a denim vest. I wore my pink low-cut Converse to match it with my outfit and to look casual. I have wavy chestnut brown hair so I don't have to style it. I pulled my luggage I bought from Louis Vuitton and left my room.

"I'm done." I said, knocking on the door of my parents' room.

"Wait for us, sweetie. We're almost done." My mom and dad said in unison. I sighed and went downstairs. I went to our living room and sat on our beige chesterfield. I plugged my earphones on and listened to Girl on the Beach by Alexander L'Estrange. "Let's go now, sweetie." My mom approached me. I got up and followed my parents. We rode in the car and travelled for two hours and a half. We finally reached our destination. We went to Marcliffe Hotel and Spa and checked-in. We availed two different rooms. We went to our rooms and rested for a whilst. After two hours of resting, my parents finally got up and knocked on the door.

"We're about to leave. I have to work, you know. You're mom is coming with me. Do you want to come with us? " My dad asked me.

"No. I'll stay here. I'm tired. Take care." I responded.

"Okay. If you need something, just call the-"

"Alright dad! I'm perfectly fine. You don't have worry about me." I cut him off.

"Alright. If you insist, dear." He said.

I didn't respond anymore. They left. I brought my Fulton crossbody I bought from Michael Kors with me and sneaked out from the hotel. This is my first time to go outside without my parents! It's an achievement! I walked further and further. I don't even know where am I. I am lost. I opened my Fulton crossbody and looked for my phone. Great. I forgot my phone inside the hotel room. Damn it, I'm so stupid, but the good thing is I brought my hotel key card and classic purse from Marc Jacobs with me; it has £500. I'll just look for a taxi cab driver to drive me back to Marcliffe Hotel and pay him £100. I continued to walk around and looked for a coffee shop.
