Chapter II (2)

"Cat got your tongue?" She spits at me.

My nerd side goes bonkers, "Technically no. One, I'm allergic to cats, two, there are no cats here and three, that is a metaphor not worthy of my time."

"Nerd alert!" She yells with a smirk plastered on her red lips.

"Thank you, that's probably the nicest thing you've said yet!" I smirk back at her before pushing her out of my way.

"You are such a b-"

"Badger? No thanks." I cut her off. I wrinkle my nose, "They stink."

Blondy scoffs as I walk out of the bathroom. I walk back to class and decide to ignore Minty. It's not long before the bells rings and I practically sprint from the room.

I make it to my next class, then my next, then my next, then it's finally time for the beautiful hour called lunch. Halfway there I get stopped by a red head.

With a pixie hair cut and mint green eyes she is about only two inches taller than me. I look around at the full hallway to see Minty staring at me, yet again. And most the girl population ogling him and glaring at me.

"Hi! My name is Delilah, but you can call my Lilly. Sorry for my stalkerish brother Felix." Lilly points to Minty.

I prefer Minty, thank you very much. "I'm Crystal Williams." I shake her hand and I think she curses under her breath.

"Would you like to eat lunch with me Chris? If you don't mind me calling you Chris." Cool! She knows my nickname.

"Sure and everyone calls me Chris." I state with a smile. Lilly smiles and drags me to the lunch room. I ignore the weird stares as me and Lilly get lunch.

"You have to try the noodles! They are divine!" Lilly yells grabbing a bowl and shoving it onto my plate.

"Thanks?" I ask as she drags me to the check out. I pull out ten dollars only for Lilly to pay for me.

"Come on! We lost five minutes already!" Lilly shouts making heads turn our way.

"Yeah, yeah. Just keep dragging me everywhere." I laugh as Lilly sits me in a chair.

"Here we are. It always takes years to find an empty table." Lilly rolls her mint eyes.

Me and her talk about our families and our hobbies. I learn she loves football, and so the soccer junky I am bicker with her which is better. We can't decide which is better, even though soccer will always be the best.

I also learn that we have all of our classes together, I just didn't notice her. Oops. And we also decided it was friendship at first sight.

Through out this whole lunch I could make out Minty shaking and gripping the table. Okay... Not strange at all.

"Minty? Are you okay?" I ask raising an eyebrow an tilting my head to him.

"Minty?" Minty asks in a husky voice.

"Yes! I though it suited you." I exclaim with a smile. "You don't like it?"

"Not liking it isn't the problem." Minty whispers as if he is trying to make it inaudible to me.

I let an amused chuckle out as his face heats up. "Is my Minty blushing?" I ask letting my eyes widen in wonder.

"I'm yours?" Minty asks, now it's my turn to blush.

"No!" I all but yell. I get some crazy look and I know for a fact my blush brightens.

"I'll be yours." Minty whispers in my ear. I can't help the shiver that runs up my back.

"Would you stop trying to take my friend?" Lilly asks pulling me away from the overly friendly Minty. Minty send me a wink when the bells rings and Lilly takes me to the gym.

After we get changed into the gym clothes. Which is shorts that reach mid-thigh and tight shirts. I feel like a slut, but it's not like I'm not used to it.

I've played soccer since I was nine, of course I'm used to it.

"Damn girl! You know how to rock P.E. clothes!" Lilly stares wide eyed at my outfit.

"Should I take that as a complement?" I ask scratching the back of my neck.

"Yes! Look at your legs! I'm so jealous right now!" Lilly whines dragging me into the gym room.

"I play soccer, it was bound to happen." I laugh as her.

"Today is dodge ball! I think you've played it enough to know the rules!" The coach yells from the middle of the room.

The blonde girl from the bathroom raises her hand. "Yes Dayna?" The coach asks. So blondy's name is Dayna, the goddess has a goddess name. I'm feeling a little bit like Frodo again. Or Bilbo Bagins, either would work.

"Do we have boys versus girls? Because I don't feel like getting a bad team." Dayna, the goddess of goddesses, asks in a high pitched voice.

I mean if she used her actual voice more people would like her, just saying...

"It's always boys versus girls." The coach scolds. Dayna pouts and wraps her arms around Minty's arm. I narrow my eyes at her stupid arms wrapped around my-.

Wait! What? Minty isn't mine. I almost laugh at Dayna's face when Minty pushes her away.

"Girls on the right side, boys on the left! Chop, chop!" The coach yells moving off the court.

"I'm going to die." I whine as Lilly pulls me to the girls side of the court.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't get hit." Lilly promises me.

"Touch the wall until I get the damn music to work!" The coach hollers. Lilly and I walk back into the wall.

It takes two minutes before the music starts and I'd rather not tell you what happened during gym. It is a horrid hour, so you don't need to know the details.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Lilly asks me in the nurses office with me.

"I'm sure." I groan as the nurses puts an icepack on my eye. I don't know how but someone from my own team nailed me in the face.

So one bloody nose and a black eye later I am sitting on a very uncomfortable bed, in the nurses office. With two very worried siblings breathing down my neck.

Yep, both Minty and Lilly. And Minty isn't just worried but pissed, which isn't helping.
