Third Person Pov:
The rain made a pleasant rhythm against the apartment window as the green haired boy slept peacefully. A soft morning blue hue of light made it's way through the curtains. As the morning continued a sudden noise filled the room of choked breathing and breathy sobs racking the once peacefully sleeping boy's body. The male continued to cry in his sleep until the bedroom door opened revealing his roommate and childhood friend.
Rushing forwards, Katsuki made his way to Izuku's side. In an attempt to wake the sleeping boy the blond did what any sensible person would do... He shook the boy's shoulder repeatedly, only to receive a punch to the nose from a flailing arm.
"Ow! Fuck!" Clutching his nose Katsuki backed away from Izuku. Izuku on the other hand bolted upright alert to see his friend holding his nose in pain.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry Kacchan! Are you okay? I didn't mean too! I'm sorry Kacchan!", the boy started crying apologizing profusely. Katsuki waved off his apologies leaving the room to check if his nose was damaged or not. Calming his heart rate back to a slower pace Izuku stood up shaking away the last bit of dizziness that lingered.
"Kacchan, when does your shift start? I'll make breakfast before you leave.", making his way to the small kitchen they had in the cramped apartment to two rented. The two moved in together when they were fourteen, both got emancipated from their parents due to neglect for Izuku's case and mental as well as physical abuse for Katsuki's case. It was a long court battle for both the parents and the boys as they made their statements in front of the court. The boys relied on each other as their caseworkers tried to put them into a foster home after the court decision was made. Neither wanted to be separated, so they each found jobs to prove they could provide for themselves and live on their own. Now they live together at sixteen in a small apartment near downtown of the city
"Shit Izuku I'm lucky you didn't break my nose. You throw a hard punch for someone who was barely conscious." Katsuki grumbled walking out of the one half bathroom they had in the small apartment. As he walked into the kitchen Katsuki could smell the fluffy pancakes Izuku was making and fresh tea brewing in the tea kettle on the stove. Judging by the honey next to the Batman coffee cup, Izuku was making green tea. Izuku was a big fan of comic books and superheroes it was his escape from reality. Katsuki used music as therapy same as Izuku, but both used it in different ways. Izuku would play the guitar or piano if he was upset whereas Katsuki played drums or would dance getting lost in his own world.
"Food is done Kacchan. Let's eat!" Izuku spoke breaking Katsuki out of his thoughts. Humming in response Katsuki joined Izuku at the coffee table.
"Thanks for the food nerd, I appreciate it." Katsuki spoke digging into the heavenly food Izuku made. Fluffy cinnamon sugar apple pancakes with strawberries and honey. Katsuki and Izuku would switch off cooking duties quite often, Izuku made breakfast and Katsuki made dinner. Both finished their food placing plates in the sink for later. Izuku sat on the counter legs crossed, drinking the remainder of what was left of the tea. The tranquil moment was interupted by his phone ringing. Sighing in disappointment Izuku dug his phone out of the pockets of his sweatpants.
"Hello, Midoriya here. How may I help you?"
"Midoriya! Thank the gods you answered. We had someone call in sick and I need you to cover their shift.", Izuku heard his coworker speak urgently.
"Give me a few minutes to get dressed then I'll head over. You tell Keigo he owes me overtime, today was supposed to be my day off. Bye Jirou," Izuku finished the call hopping off the counter sipping his tea all the way to his room placing the now empty cup on his nightstand. Walking over to his small closet picking out a green sweatshirt and black ripped jeans. After getting dressed he grabbed his oxen blood Doc Martens off the shoe rack sitting on the floor tugging them on. While Izuku struggled to put on his boots, Katsuki came up from behind grabbing his own black Docs with red and yellow flames that he painted. Katsuki was dressed in his black skull tank top and green cargo pants.
Once they finished putting on their shoes they grabbed their respective keychains. Hopping onto Katsuki's motorcycle they left the apartment garage to their jobs. Izuku worked as a barista at the local coffee shop along with the comic book store across the street from said coffee shop. Katsuki worked at the skate shop and as a part-time waiter at the Italian restaurant next to the movie theater. Downtown was busy this morning when Katsuki drove Izuku to his workplace, stopping in front of the small coffee shop Katsuki gave Izuku a pat on the back wishing him luck before leaving for his own workplace around the corner. Izuku sighed as he opened the door to the welcoming space. Lifting his head Izuku walked to the employees area to throw on his apron before going to the register to take orders.
"Hey Midoriya, thanks again for coming in. Tsu called in sick this morning, turns out she's allergic to fish and her date last night took her to the new seafood restaurant down the street. Who woulda thought huh? She used to love that stuff." Jirou started conversing with him as he made orders left and right.
"No way really? That sucks, she used to rave about her love of sushi and all that. You think it's was just bad food poisoning or what?" Izuku spoke as he was brewing a fresh pot of coffee. Jirou nodded as she went to grab monster from her bag tossing one to Izuku. Izuku thanked her as he turned around to make himself a drink; Green apple liquor, original monster, ice and viola! Monster infused drink. Taking a sip of his creation he smiled in content, now he was awake and ready to deal with the world... Maybe, we'll see how he feels after his new customer. A karen and her devil spawn offspring. Turning to face his customer with the slightest eye twitch at the sight of the woman.
"Hello what would you like?" Izuku greeted with a forced smile as the woman finally looked up from her phone lifting her tacky oversized sunglasses to read the menu. A few minutes later the small child that was with her had walked to a seat at the barstool laying his head on his arms quietly. Finally the woman made up her mind and ordered her drink and left to take a phone call leaving the child to start to fall asleep in his seat. Izuku gave the boy a look of pity and decided to give him a cake pop and hot chocolate earning a small smile in return. The boy thanked Izuku and ate the cake pop with a happy shine in his eyes. Izuku thought to strike up a conversation with the small boy to at least give him some company.
"Hey little buddy, how are you?," Izuku spoke softly as to not scare the boy away. The boy looked up surprised at the question.
"I'm okay... Auntie probably left again to go shopping. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you." the boy spoke looking at his hot chocolate distaste in his tone.
"Well you aren't bothering me, Hey you like comic books? I'm sure I can find one in my bag." Izuku replied earning a confused look from the boy who continued to ask what a comic book was. Holding his hand up to his chest in mock offense Izuku gasped.
"Huh? You've never read a comic book before? well give me a second let me go grab my bag." Izuku ran to the backroom taking and relatively old All Might comic book out of his bag and bringing it back to the boy.
"This is All Might origin, it's about the character on the front page and his journey to becoming a hero." Izuku saw a glimmer of happiness in the boy's expression as he read the comic with so much interest that he didn't notice when Izuku went back to work making drinks for the new customers. Hours had passed and no sign of the boy's Aunt, Izuku debated whether or not to just take the kid with him to at least Katsuki's work so the boy could do something and so Izuku could keep an eye on him.
"Hey buddy, where's your Auntie? My shift is over and she still hasn't shown back up." Izuku asked the boy with worry as the boy just sighed and looked at Izuku tears in his eyes.
"No one ever stays... She's not coming back." The boy muttered angrily turning away to hide his face as tears fell onto the once dry comic book.
