Mia's POV
"Mia!" my mom called me, "Get your butt downstairs or you will be late for the interview!"
"Coming" I yelled back as I put the finishing touches to my makeup, I went for light and natural, I wore a flouncy black skirt, a boyfriend style oxford, grey tights and black studded flats. I was going for an interview to Cooper Union.
Cooper Union is the best art school in New York. My mom and dad flew with me from California, SF, to be exact. It was my first time out of the state. The five hour flight didn't make it a too pleasing experience.
I ran down the stairs and hurriedly gave my mom and dad a kiss on the cheek, got into our old, red Ford Fiesta. I got out of the drive way and onto the main road where I followed 'Linda's' directions.
The only reason that I got to stay is that my aunt Melinda lives like 20 minutes from the university. The dorm fee is too expensive to afford with my parents mediocre jobs. We have just enough to live comfortably without enough for major expenses like a new car or expensive splurges at a mall.
My aunt Melinda is the coolest aunt in the world! She is 28, has a boyfriend, Ron, who is the geek of the year and has crazy hair colors every month.
I arrived at the Union and took out my bag which also contained my portfolio and other stuff that they required .
