In today’s modern era, the technology is getting faster and innovation arised. Now you can talk to your love ones via video call, 3Gs, and a like. Obviously, most of people nowadays have their own cellular phones, computer and other gadgets. For some people you won’t be called “in” if you don’t have facebook, or twitter or other social network sites. It is a part of their lifestyle, every time that they will face a computer it is very impossible that they won’t look for their friend requests, tags, messages, followers and so much more, it is very easy right now to talk to someone through the tips of your fingers, and it will just take you a second/minute to do that. Compared before that on our ancestor’s time that pen pal and it is traditional way of communication for them, they even need to go personally just to talk to their relatives and friends. It is so simple, we are created to communicate, no one is alone and we want to have a companion. Suppose that you send a message to your friend or to your prospect lover, of course, your instinct will tell you that you want him to replied back. It is natural and all of us feel the same way. We want to talk and we want their response as well.

Most of the time we are trying to find our comfort from others, to whom we called as “friends” Yes! It’s okay to have friends, barkada and kachokaran, someone to talk to and be with, you don’t want to waste your time talking to air, trees and animals. I bet you, if you will do that, I won’t wonder that you’ll be insane and I will see you one day in a mental hospital hehe. Anyway, going back to our topic, we trust our friends; we value them we don’t want them to be detached. I have this personality that once I love my friend, I can do sacrifice for him and I can give him something that I can offer, I value people and I am securing them to a special place which is my heart, but let me ask this question, do we trust more our God, the “I AM” the “ONE” that is able? Do we treat him as our friend or we are very much afraid of him because he is a king and someone who is so holy. We like to talk to our friends, for some people they want to spend their time with their friends rather than with their family; people are looking for an approval, for advices and for their words really touches our hearts, on the other way around? How is your relationship now with our God? Do you talk to him often, sometimes, or never, I know you know what prayer is, you and I will agree that prayer is a communication to our Lord God, and if you think that prayer is a one way process only, you are absolutely wrong. It is a two way line, God is also speaks to us through our hearts and I will share you some thoughts regarding that as you go along reading this article. Let me share to you, my God of whom I adore He is God who is not distant and angry, he does not count our sins against us, he is the complete expression of love, and he loves us so much, and no one can separate us from his love and what must be our response be? We also need to love him back, because he is the first one who loved us, we who are wretched, pitiful, naked and sinners, love by our God who is a perfect and holy one. But perhaps you will ask me, “How can I love God if I can’t see him?” Yes! God is a spirit, that’s why he wants us to worship him in spirit and in truth. You don’t have to see God physically here on earth for you to love him, we have his Words (Holy Bible), the nature from which man’s dependence and reliance for his survival physiologically, the instruments of God (these are the people that God had sent to us) and most importantly, if we’ll just only make our heart and mind be quiet and be very conscious and attentive, we will be able to hear the small voice of God and that is the Holy Spirit. The problem of most people, especially of young adults in today’s generation, they can’t have a rest and their world is too noisy and occupied, no wonder they get easily exhausted, upset, frustrated and so many bad energies unleashed. They want to do things that they think they can help them but they forgot the most essential ones. They settle for something less but in fact there are things that are bests of best that waits for them.

Let me share to you how Jesus modeled his reliance, trust and dependence to his Father. This is how he lived here on earth during his time.

Matthew 14:22-23 “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.”
