"Finally, Elle. Akala ko never ka na matatapatan ng bote. So, truth or dare?" Julia asked.
Nandito kami ngayon sa mall, kasama si Pat, Gabby at Andrea. It's Saturday and wala kaming schoolworks so we decided to hang out.
By the way, I am Danielle Faith Ledesma. And I am a boring person.
"Magtruth kana, Elle. I have so many questions. Madaya ka kasi, hindi ka nagkukwento." Sabi ni Andrea.
"Sige, kung yan ang gusto mo. Juls, dare." I answered.
"Aw, akala ko pagbibigyan mo si Andrea. First time yon!" Pat said and that made us laugh.
Nag-usap-usap silang tatlo tungkol sa ipapagawa nila sakin when the four of them looked at me and smirked. Damn, I thought. I suddenly felt nervous when I remembered that one movie na kakashowing lang.
"Watch the new movie. Alone, ha?" Gabby said.
As much as I want to watch a movie alone, ipapanood niyo na lahat sa akin wag lang horror. Dahil napakatalino ng mababait kong kaibigan, naisip nila yon.
"Gab, alam mo naman." I pleaded. I consider her as my most reliable friend.
"Elle, sorry but, you chose it." She said.
"Do I really have to?" I asked them. "Can't you join me?"
Alam naman nila na hindi ko kaya ihandle manood ng horror mag-isa. So, pagbibigyan nila ako no matter what. I smiled.
"If you can't, I'll find someone to accompany you. Basta hindi kami, it's okay." Julia said.
"What? Sino naman makakasama ko? You guys know that you're my only friends, right? And even if I have more, hindi naman sila makakapunta dito agad." I said.
I am happy to have these four girls by my side whenever. We've known each other for years and I know that they're the only people that I can trust. Even though I rarely talk to them about myself.
I am unfair, indeed. I know everything about them but they know a little about me. But that's what I like about them, they don't force me to talk, they'll just let me open up about anything and then we'll talk about it.
"Then, what about this: when we see anyone who we happen to know, we'll call them and ask them to accompany you. Deal? That's your only option, lady." Pat said.
"Fine, as long as I am not alone." I told them.
We waited for a few minutes when suddenly Pat and Julia stood up. Ugh, they finally saw someone, I thought.
Both of them walked towards two boys. Holyshit, boys. The thought of going to the movies with two boys who I never knew that existed was crazy. But at least, they are acquainted with my friends.
"Hi, Miggy, Ken! Long time no see!" Julia greeted them.
They chatted for a while and my friends told them what they really need. Hiniling ko nalang na sana busy sila. Sana hindi sila pumayag. I need someone to watch with me, but if I am a boring person around my friends, I am much more boring and awkward around new faces.
"So, we were playing a game and my friend lost, and she have to watch the horror movie as the penalty. But the thing is, she can't handle these kind of things. Do you have time to accompany her?" Julia asked.
No, no. Please, no. I thought.
"Ugh, sure." One of them said. Shit, I cursed. "Where is she by the way?"
"Elle!" My friends called me. I have never been this nervous.
"Miggy, this is Elle. Elle, this is Miggy." Pat introduced me to the one who asked where I was.
"Hi, I'm Carlos Miguel De Mesa. It's a pleasure to meet you." He politely said.
Damn, I know I am awkward at introductions but it's totally different when the one who was introduced is accidentally your type of guy.
I just smiled at him, not knowing what to do. Turn off na, Elle. Wala ka na.
The other guy is just busy texting. He has been on his phone the whole time, I guess. He talks once in a while but never really bothered about the conversation earlier with Pat and Julia.
"Hey, Mr. Ken, I think it's about time to introduce you to Elle. Elle, this is Ken. And Ken, this is Elle. Please stop using your phone and shake her hand, for god's sake." Pat told him.
He just shrugged and offered his hand.
"Hi, I am Kendrick Sy. Please stop wasting time." He said and went back to text whoever he's texting.
