00 - Prologue

{Prologue}

"You can't ignore your power forever. You can't ignore yourself forever. Someday, you're going to have to accept who you are."

FYI: (I'm putting this here to avoid any confusion later on, but mostly as reminder-notes for myself)

In short:

Seokjin is a vampire.
Yoongi is a demon.
Hoseok is a fairy.
Namjoon is a wizard.
Jimin is a merman.
Taehyung is a werewolf.
Jungkook is a superhuman.

In long:

Jin is a vampire: he has good sense of smell, together with Jungkook and taehyung. He has to drink blood every day to survive, but he's ashamed of it and doesn't like to do it in front of people. Like Baz from carry on, he only drinks animals and has never drained a human. He has monstrous strength, it hurts him to be in the sun for too long and he can't touch silver. He can only be killed by being stabbed in the heart with wood. Also he's flammable.

Yoongi is a demon: he can use dark magic and summon demons on command. He came from the underworld, which he ruled, but he wanted more so he came to the human world. The limits of his capabilities are kind of vague, but his biggest strength is the manipulating of shadows, kind of like shikamaru but cooler. He can't be in churches or touch religious things, and he can be exorcised from the human world if done right.

Hoseok is a fairy/elf/angel situation: He doesn't have wings but he can fly (like Peter Pan but without pixiedust). He can heal people really fast and he can manipulate light (see what I did there?). He can like blind people and light up his hand as a flashlight and all that stuff. He is literally not capable of doing a bad deed, due to his oath to his ruler.

Namjoon is a wizard: this kind of speaks for itself. He can use all sorts of magic if he knows the spell, and is very powerful. All his senses need to be active to use magic, for instance, if he's blinded he can't use it, or if his ears are plugged he can't use it. Also he's clumsy and he often messes up a spell which sometimes leave serious consequences. His favorite magic is elemental magic, preferably fire.

Jimin is a merman: he can breathe underwater, swim extremely fast and communicate with fish. He transforms into a beautiful merman when he touches water, and he can control it (like that one bitch from H2O or Katara in book one: he can't make whole ass trunami's but he can do some lil waterbending).

Taehyung is a werewolf: he can become a wolfman at will, like sharp nails and fangs, superstrength, superspeed, and supersenses. Also he becomes a little hairy, lets say his shirt rips off and bam it's Scott from teen wolf. He can communicate with wolves and kind of acts like one since he was raised by wolves.
Anyhoo when it's the full moon he goes apeshit, and Namjoon, seokjin, yoongi and JK have to take turns restraining him. Jimin always offers but the boys know he can't take it to see tae in that state.

Jungkook is a superhuman/titan situation: he is the strongest of the bunch, like he is extremely fucking strong. He could literally break a plane in half like a cracker. and that says a lot since they literally have a vampire, a demon and a werewolf. unlike tae he doesn't have fangs of claws, so he gets hurt more often cutting himself and shit, since he sometimes overestimates his abilities.

Also, Y/n is a shapeshifter. She can take the appearance of anyone. However, the appearance is only as good as she has memorized it. For example: if she doesn't know a certain person has a mole on their lip, she won't recreate it in her appearance and therefore the appearance is not identical to the person she want to resemble. It's nearly impossible to recreate a stranger, and she can only stay in a certain shape for two minutes tops. After that, she'll just snap back to her own looks.

Also also:

There's probably going to be some swearing, maybe a little fluff and or smut but I honestly don't know what direction this book is going to take.

Y/n's tragic backstory:

In a world where magical powers, characteristics and hereditary abilities where seen as taboo, Y/n had lived her whole life hiding her powers for everyone she knew.

These natural and hereditary abilities had become more rare every decade and eventually, where labeled as "dangerous" and "deadly". It was then, that the King decided every child to be born with a power had to be killed, instantly.

So when Y/n was born, her parents prayed to the gods above that she wouldn't inherit her grandmothers power; the ability to shape your appearance in anyone you've ever seen. A power that could be misused horribly, and thus would guarantee the child's death.

Unfortunately, luck wasn't on their side. Y/n developed the ability to shape-shift at the age of three, and with that her father decided to leave his wife and daughter, afraid of what the future held for them.

Y/n mother however, stayed by her side, until she was killed by the Kings soldiers when Y/n was eleven. Her mother was protecting the truth about Y/n, until her last breath.

Y/n grew up lonely, afraid and kept to herself, a complete contrast to the lively and spontaneous girl she used to be. When her foster mother, Saeko, would ask what Y/n was like when she was small, Y/n would reply with a shrug, secretly wishing to go back to how she was.

But she knew it didn't work like that. She knew that broken plates would never go back to what they were. They could be glued back together, but the cracks would remain forever.

As she got to high school, she made a single friend. Her name was Bff/n and she got her out of her shell, little by little. She didn't know of Y/n power of course, and Y/n was hoping to keep it that way.

As time went by, she steadily developed her power in secret, whilst living a normal life. After coping with her mother's death, she took as much distance from magical abilities as she could. "I can just ignore it." She would tell herself often. "If I pretend it doesn't exist, it'll eventually just disappear."

But to ignore magic, to ignore magical abilities and mutations, would become much harder than she thought it would be. And all of that happened because of a gutsy wizard and his men.
