Chapter 24. Surprise

Kai's P.O.V.

It's January 12. And it's a weekday so I had a hard time to pull off my birthday surprise for D.O. and Ji Eun.

I went off early, leaving Ji Eun in the house. Before I left, I placed a blanket on her and kissed her forehead. We, EXO, pretended that we don't know it's their birthday. Us EXO have our surprise for the both of them and I have my own surprise for Ji Eun.

I'm inside the room, and I sat beside Ji Eun.

"Good morning Ji Eun-ah." I whispered right to her ear.

"You left early. Why?" She asked in a tone. Oh no, this is not good. I think she's sulking.

"Nothing, I just wanted to be here early." I replied.

"Fine, whatever." She said as she rolled her eyes on me.

What?- What did I do wrong?

"Are you angry?" I asked.

"No." She starightforwardedly answered.

"Well then why are you like that?" I asked.

"You didn't even left a note. That you left early. Girls like those stuff. I like those stuff. Kiss me and put a blanket on me before you leave. Those stuff." She cutely said.

If she only knew.. I kissed her and placed a blanket. I didn't know she was into those note stuff!

"Okay. I'm sorry, baby girl. Next time, it'll be like that, okay?" I silently said.

"Okay." She said.

"Are we okay, now?" I asked.

"Definitely." She smiled.

Many hours have passed and nothing happened—just the usual. We were supposed to have our dance practice with Hyoyeon noona today but it got canceled that's why we got dismissed an hour earlier than the usual. The reason why I call Hyoyeon "noona" even though she's my teacher is because we're friends and we kinda like dancing and danced with Lay hyung before, too.

Ji Eun was on the locker area, with a bunch of students staying there, too. There were some guys who kept checking her out—which made me feel furious, but I had to keep my distance since they shouldn't know about us. The locker area was outside, near the school's gym in the open area so I just stood here near the carpark which was also near to the gym and waited for her. God, it's taking us a long time to get to each other because a lot of students are still present. I don't know if I can still pull off this surprise for her and D.O. hyung if it's taking me this long.

Good thing, students started going home. Kris, Chanyeol, and Suho were in the gym playing basketball. I decided to go there since there are still students yet, and I feel like s**t waiting here like a flagpole.

"Suho hyung!" I shouted.

"Wae?" He shouted back, there at the bleachers who was just watching Kris and Chanyeol hyung play. Of course, Suho hyung was a bit of a shorty so he couldn't get along with the two towers when things like basketball come in.

"Where's D.O. hyung?" I asked, shouting again, hands in my pocket as I walked to the bleachers.

"He's with Chen, Sehun, Luhan, Lay, and Baekhyun. They're distracting him from coming home." He answered.

"Good. Come hyung, let's go home. We still have to do touch-ups on the surprise." I said.

"Okay. Kris will come too, so it'll be Chanyeol and Tao who'll ride Ji Eun home to our house." Suho replied.
