The weight of a loss

Chapter 22

They walked to the boat but before opening the door Rick turned to face Kate.
- "Close your eyes." He said
- "Really?"
- "Yes, babe. I have another surprise for you in the yacht."
- "You and your surprises!" She said smiling
- "Please babe." He begged her
- "Okay okay!"
Just in case he put his hands on her eyes, opened the door and walked in the boat.
- "Can I open it now?" Kate asked
- "Just a second, you're so not patient!" He said amused
- "Hm hm."
- "Okay open your eyes now." He said after a few seconds
- "Wooow babe! That's beautiful!" She said opening her eyes and looking everywhere
In the boat there was a kitchen opened on the living room. There was a big leather couch with a small table in glass, a TV and roses on the floor leading to another room. Kate followed the roses and arrived to a small room with a jacuzzi in the middle, glasses on the side of the jacuzzi and a bottle of champagne. She kept following the roses leading to stairs. She walked to the upper floor and arrived to a bedroom containing a kind size bed, another tv, a huge dressing room. There was roses all over the bed.
- "Babe... I... That's fabulous! I can't find my words!" Kate said turning to face Rick and putting her arms around his neck.
Rick placed his arms around her waist and pulled her to him. He gently kissed her lips.
- "You don't have to say anything. It's my pleasure to make you happy." He said
- "Thank you so much for everything."
- "Always."
- "I don't know what I would do without you. I love you."
- "I love you too." He said and kissed her. "Okay what do you say about going somewhere? I know a place where the sea is turquoise and absolutely beautiful!"
- "Yes that sounds great!"
They walked to the helm and Rick turn on the boat.
- "I didn't know you could drive boats." Kate said sitting next to him.
- "Yep. I learned that a long time ago during holidays."
They left the harbor and about 30 min later they the boat started to slow down.
- "Here we are." Said castle and started pushing the anchor. "Come on, follow me I have to show you something!"
He took her hand and led her outside.
- "Wow the sea is just amazing! That's beautiful!" Kate said with a big smile.
- "It's one my favorite place to go. I knew you would love it." He said placing his arm around her shoulders.
- "Hmm what's that smell?" Kate asked
- "Uh I don't smell anything except the smell of sea." He said looking at her. "Are you okay? You look pale!"
- "Yes I'm just tired. But that smell gave me nausea."
- "Do you want to go inside?"
- "Yes please, if that's okay with you."
- "Anything for you, babe."
They walked back inside the boat and led to the living room.
- "What about trying that jacuzzi?" Rick asked
- "Yes sounds good."
- "I'm gonna get some towels I'll be back in a second." Yelled Castle walking to the bathroom.
- "Okay I'm gonna change to my bathing suit." She said walking to the bedroom upstairs.
- "Hm hm."
A few minutes later Rick walked back to the living room but Kate was still upstairs.
- "Kate? Everything's alright?" He asked walking in the bedroom.
- "I'm over here." He heard her.
He walked in the bathroom. Kate was sitting on the floor, next to the toilets throwing up. He sat next to her.
- "Are you okay?" He asked rubbing her back and holding her hair
- "Yes I'll be fine. I probably ate something bad." She said leaning on castle.
- "I ate the same things than you and I'm not sick."
- "I don't know Rick. Maybe the treatment is too strong. I've been having nausea for a few days."
- "Do you feel better now?"
- "Yes. Can we just stay like that for a few minutes?"
- "Sure babe."
They stayed like that for a few minutes. Kate threw up once again.
- "Okay, I'm done." She said "Can you help me get up?"
Rick stood up and offered his hand to Kate. She stood up but almost fell.
- "Wow. Are you okay?" Asked Rick holding her tight.
- "I just feel dizzy."
- "Okay. You're gonna lay down in bed okay?"
- "Okay."
Rick took her in his arms and walked to the bedroom.
- "Here we go. Now get some rest. I'm gonna make lunch and I'll come back when it's ready." He said covering her of blankets.
