"So, y/n, taken any time to think of any leads on who Kira might be?" L asked, picking up his fork and staring at it, a bored expression crossing his pale face. I finished a sip of my white wine, placing the cold glass on the table before giving him a smile. "I've been pretty busy lately and might have a few small theories, but nothing major." He nodded in response and stared at me once more. An awkward silence filled the room and I played with my dress under the table. "So, L, what are your hobbies besides being a world class detective?" I asked, trying to make conversation with the insomniac. "Well, eating I suppose." He responded, his face flushing red. A long silence passed as I looked at him, seeing the gears turning in his sharp mind.
"So, how about you? Do you like, activities?" He asked, a slight nervous expression crossing his normally calm and collected face. I giggled at his attempt to get to know my interests. "Well, I guess I like baking, and I don't know, staying up late and working with you." I responded, resting my chin in the palm of my hand, watching my finger circle my wine glass aimlessly. I saw L shift in his seat slightly at my comment, cheeks slightly dusted with a rosy pink. A smile crept across his face and I noticed some confidence seep into his eyes. An expression that I've never seen crossed his face and he looked me up and down again, letting out a low chuckle. "You know, I thought you looked good in that swimsuit, but that dress fits you even better. It sure leaves little up to the imagination." My face showed the utter shock of an innocent girl, but inside, a welling power filled me. He'd taken the bait. "Speaking of clothes, you never wear anything different from the outfit you have on. What a shame I can't say the same for you." Now it was his turn to wear a face of shock. He stared into my eyes, jet black orbs crinkling slightly from the smirk that melted onto his face.
"Excuse me, madam and sir, your dinner." The waiter said, gesturing to a cart full of desserts. I cocked my brow, surprised that our meal consisted of cakes, cookies, and other sugary sweets. "Is this really all you eat Ryuzaki?" I asked, genuinely curious. He shrugged and picked up a small cake with a strawberry on top. "You know, strawberries are my favorite." I commented, biting my lip. "Oh really?" He asked, leaning over the table and placing it into my open mouth. "You like your fruits, good girl." He said before sitting back down. I looked up at him gently, wiping the leftover whipped cream off my lip. "Would you mind coming back to the hotel with me? I have some unfinished business with the case." L asked, staring me down. "It would be my pleasure." I replied, lips curling into a cheshire cat grin.
