Chapter 28
I stayed up all night, processing all the shit that happened. 'Di ko alam ang gagawin. I really don't understand why Cia's father told me that we can't do anything about this. He was really weird, damn it!
And because I slept late last night, I woke up late on the other day. As I was eating my brunch, plano kong pumunta ulit sa bahay nila Tito Danilo.
Mabilis akong tumango. "Tell him I came here because we have to talk about an important manner," sagot ko bago ngumiti. Umalis naman kaagad 'yung maid na naka-usap ko. Minutes after, I can already see Tito Danilo, walking briskly through the stairs.
"What is the important thing that we have to talk about?" he immediately asked.
I didn't bother to take a seat because I knew I won't be comfortable. "Ciarra," I briefly answered. And upon saying the name, he froze. There. I can still hit a nerve.
"Oh, so you came all the way here to start an argument with me and then afterwards you'll raise your voice on me again?" he queried before raising his index finger and then added, "No, we won't do that. We won't reiterate everything we talked yesterday."
I laughed in the entertainment he was giving me. He's really amusing me. I caressed my forehead. "Care to make me understand what the fuck was happening, Tito? I honestly don't understand why you were acting all weird about this thing," I replied, frustrated with all the bullshit that's happening.
"Even if I do, you won't understand," he responded.
"Then let me understand. That won't hurt much of an ass, right?" I shot it back.
I took a deep breath. All that I know is that, one moment, an unknown person sent me a picture of Cia carrying her huge luggages while there was a man waiting for her. And then the next thing I know is that, she flew away from this country.
Tito Danilo was engulfed with silence. I took that as an opportunity to articulate my emotions. "You... Do you have any idea why she would do that to me?" I asked, I literally heard how my voice cracked in front of him.
"There's probably only one reason," he spoke and then looked directly into my eyes. "She doesn't love you anymore," he continued.
Napa-awang ang bibig ko sa narinig ko. "What? Of all people... I can't believe I could hear those words from you," sagot ko, nanghihina.
He chortled. "Bakit? Do you know any possible reason other than that?"
"I believe she was forced to do that," I said, gritting my teeth.
Tito Danilo shook his head in amusement. "All of this happened simply because she doesn't love you. Not anymore."
"Stop with the blatant lies, Tito. Now, with all due respect, I won't force you to tell me what you know because I can clearly see from your eyes that you're hiding something," I said. "I'll get going." I forced a smile before taking a step out of that house.
