The House

I sat on the couch daylight shining through the window lighting the dark room. What now? I feel as though this place doesn't feel like home anymore. Too many deaths and murder attempts have occurred here in Kansas. Maybe.... we move? But where? Something to discuss later when Drake woke up. I turned on the TV and started watching.

About an hour later Drake came out of the room, I could tell he was still tired. He sat down on the couch next to me. After a bit he fell back asleep on the couch. When the show went to commercial I got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen stretching on the way their. I grabbed the cat food from the cabinet and Kitty came running into the kitchen and started to mew. I grabbed some cat kibble and poured it into the bowl. She started eating, then she looked up and walked away towards the living room. I walked into the living room and sat back down on the couch, Kitty was asleep in Drake's arms. I smiled and turned back to the TV.

Another hour flew by and I was still watching TV when Drake got up from the couch holding Kitty in his arms and carried her to the kitchen. I heard the sink running, he must be getting Kitty some more water. He walked back in and sat down on the couch now looking nice and rested.

"Sleep well?" I asked.

"Yes." He said yawning.

"You know," I began.

"This place isn't exactly a nice place to stay.... people I love have been killed, there's been so many murder attempts, and I've killed people...... I wont be able to forget as easily if we stay here.... memories will forever hang in the air reminding me of everything." I said softly.

"I agree." He said.

I looked at him,

"Where are we moving then?" I asked.

"I dont know, wherever you want." He told me and left me to think about it. I dont want to think about this alone! I don't want to decide to go somewhere Drake wont be happy in.... I'll choose two and ask him which he would prefer. I guess Georgia....... or....... Tennessee?

I walked into the kitchen where Drake sat at the table, he looked over at me,

"It took you a while to think of somewhere to go." He told me. I looked at the clock it read 12:20 when I had last checked it was before I had started thinking and it had been 10:30. Was I lost in thought that long?

"Yes, but.... I've decided to think of two and let you decide."

"Ok what are they?" He asked ready to answer.

"Tennessee or Georgia?" I asked him.

He looked at me thoughtfully.

"How about Tennessee?" He asked.

"Ok." I answered.

"When do we leave?" I asked anxiously.

"Well," he said laughing,

"We still have a lot to do before we move, we have to buy a house out in Tennessee, we have to save up enough money to make there, and then sell the house. Then we move." He walked me through everything.

"Sounds good." I walked out of the room and grabbed the laptop. I pulled it open and went on the internet and looked up;

Houses for sale in Tennessee.

Images popped up but none of them looked like home, I was about to give up when I saw the last picture of a nice house, it was a beautiful big house. It must have had so many rooms, I clicked on the picture and lots more pictures of multiple rooms showed up, there were about three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a basement, two bathrooms, and two spare rooms. Each room containing a closet. The kitchen had a brand new oven, stove, the cabinets looked brand new with their nice handles which were painted to look like marble, and it says under the picture that the cabinets are made with Lyptus wood, the counters were made with a beautiful marble that look the same as the handles on the cabinet. The dining room was next to the kitchen and the table was made with Knotty Pine wood. The chairs looked nice with their beautiful designs. The living room had nothing in it but the carpet looking nice and the paint gave it a glow when the sunshine hit It. The bathrooms had marble counters and a silver like sink. The whole house was perfect! With new trim, carpet replacements put in, and each room was painted perfectly! This house was perfect, and cheap!

"Drake," I called from the living room couch.

"I found something," he came in and sat down I handed him the computer and he looked through the pictures at the house.

"It's perfect!" He exclaimed.

"And cheap." He added.

"Can we get it?" I asked.

"Sure." He said smiling.

I found the number at the bottom of the page and dialed the number, it was ringing. Someone picked up the phone and said,

"Hello?"

"Hello, I saw that your house was put up for sale and I was wondering if I could come over and look around." I told them quickly.

"Sure, tomorrow would be the best time." They explained to me.

"Ok ill see you tomorrow, bye." I hung up and ran to the bedroom and walked out ready to go with the exact amount of money needed to buy the house.

"Im going to go and look at the house in Tennessee, ill be back tomorrow to pack everything up." I called from the door and walked out into the car, and drove away.
