"You're a real cool girl," he whispers. "You're not too bad yourself. When you're not being a jerk," I say. He leans in and grabs my face, then lightly kisses me on the mouth. I start to kiss him back, but I can smell the alcohol on his breath and realise he probably does not mean this at all. I pull away, but my heart is almost pounding out of my chest. "Come on, let's wrap this party up," I say, pulling him downstairs. He goes off and I see him really enjoying himself, so I leave him be.

I try not to overthink what just happened, but it keeps replaying in my mind. It's getting late, so people start leaving. I check on Greg before I leave. You gonna be alright?" I ask him. "Yeah, don't worry," he says. "You have my number if you need, I'll just be down the road tonight," I tell him.
Megan, Nicki and I head off and walk home.

"Sooo, did you enjoy your first Crosslands party?" Megan asks. "Yeah, was fun," I say, realising how flat my voice sounds. "What is it?" Nicki asks. "Well... Rodrick kissed me upstairs," I say, sighing. "Oh shit, did you... like it?" Nicki asks. "Oh my gosh, not Rodrick!" Megan exclaims. "I don't know. Because I know he was tipsy so he probably didn't mean it," I say. "That idiot," Megan says. "I'll just see if he messages me tomorrow, otherwise I'll just move on," I say.

The next morning, I check my phone to find 0 messages. Rodrick isn't worth it. I head home after breakfast and decide to do nothing at all today.
