Today was the day Ibara and I would play our lives in a simple game, it also seemed that Yumeko had her own game. While walking to the location, that feeling of insanity started to grow that closer I got, but all we exchanged was a nod of good luck towards each other. She will be fine, I never really worry about her at all because she's not need in my plan.
"Yikes, I felt that dead aura from a mile away. Good thing I didn't have to hunt you down, shrimp.~" His empty insults was like air, since they can get easily destroyed with the most simple work. I responded, "What was the game you picked?" "Actually," a voice appeared. It was a small girl in a puffy orange jacket, she was in the Election Management Committee, the thought of the rules hit me. "You picked the game?" "Why of course! The game you two will be playing is called Guess the Card, it's very simple!" We both sat at the table, his stare being beaten out by my dead one, as the orange jacket wearing girl took out 3 cards to lay them face down on the table. "Okay," she clapped. "There will be 3 cards; 2 marked with X's and one with an O. You can take a minute to think, then I'll mix up the cards for you both to then bet some chips. The last thing to do is pick a card; X means the dealer gets your bet plus double that to the other player and O means that nothing happens to you. Ready?" I nodded almost instantly to only leave the "other one" kinda surprised that I caught on so quickly, but he agreed as well.
The dealer re-shuffled the cards and laid them back down for me to start thinking. This game is clearly just based on luck to the normal eye, but I quickly came with an answer to which one I could choose of the 3 cards, "And the chips we're betting are our own votes?" "What, are you scared of losing your votes to me?~" Ibara bellowed once again in confidence that only bounced off me. "Yup!" the girl in orange smiled as she whipped out 3 types of chips. The first one was a regular blue labeled with the number 1, the second one was dark orange labeled 10, and the last one was bright red labeled 50. The girl started to explain, "You both should already know how many votes you have, so these explain themselves. Whoever comes down to 0 votes first is the loser!" She handed us both the amount of chips, and I quickly put at least 5 vote chips in the middle to catch Ibara off guard.
He smirked widely and put out a simple ten chip, "I'm gonna love you more as my pet.~" Our hands picked one card for each of us and we flipped our picked cards. Ibara carried an O card while I carried the X, this put a low chuckle in his throat and dark expression of early victory on his face. My ears tuned out his unnecessary rambling with a simple planning of strategy, pushing 10 votes towards him while just looking at his face twisting from cockiness to pure annoyance from my lack of reaction. Since I received the card marked with X, another 5 went to the dealer. One more time, and the possible pattern will be revealed to me in a matter of seconds.
The next round started and I simply put out the same 5 vote chips to only be met with his ranting once more, "Here's what I think, you are some sad Polly Pocket putting up an act to try and be one of us. You even go so far as to try and spy on us, that was really pathetic of yourself." "All I've heard from you is empty insults and kissing your own ass to try and boast how your more powerful compared to me. If that is a fact, then please shut your gums and do it since actions are the only thing that matters." That stopped his laughing really quickly as he shoved 5 vote chips into the pile just like me, he was copying me. "Tell me, Mrs. Robot," He started with a slight smirk, chuckle, and eyebrow raise; the "holy three" he might call it. He asked me, "Since you love watching people like a little pervert, you must know some things about me. Start spouting what you know, shrimp." At least he has some kind of brain matter to work with in his life.
"Your full name is Ibara Obami, adopted by your brother basically because your flaw almost got you banished. The file on you was quite small when it came to your story, but I can take the smallest information and use it to my advantage. Now you have to answer my questions," I answered. My hand picked one card as he picked one as well with his eyes staring lasers into mine that were very similar to a dead fish.
"You love Rin, your brother?"
"Well duh!"
"Do you want him to win the Election?"
"If I can't win, then I'll help him."
Our hands flipped over the cards, the same as last time. The game is now mine with him revealing himself with a few simple questions, but of course came my judging of the person and this one was a breath of fresh air compared to the others this few weeks.
"What? Are you rethinking your life already, shrimp?~ I guess we can just-" "Are you cheating right now?" Silence. After a minute of silence and confusion, the air and our ears were filled with the sound of 2/3 of my total votes sliding into the betting pool, "Answer the question, Ibara." His face slowly turned red and his hands shook a little, meanwhile I have already picked a card only to watch his pupils violently shake. With much hesitation from the other end, he finally took a deep breath and took all his voting chips to the pool and instantly took a card to flip it. His fingers held onto that X marked card, his eyes spotting my card marked with an O that covered my left eye, "You have not answered my question."
"Yes...I cheated." He mumbled to catch the dealer's attention. She spoke up with a serious expression towards Ibara mixed with a small smile, "You already know the rules by now, so I really don't have to say it. Cheating is unspeakable in this school!" His head lowered to the table with his hands on his head, gripping tightly on his hair during his constant quiet cries and apologizes to Rin. My body stood, but did not move from that spot towards the door, I moved around the table towards Ibara. "You can't physically tell a lie, so you shouldn't get twisted in a web made of them, " My legs bent to meet him at eye level. He looked over my blank face with tears in his eyes, "The toxicity of gambling can ruin a pure white soul easily. Stop playing the game of lies when you can't tell one, because it can kill you...or I can. It is your choice, isn't it?" With that I started to walk away until I felt a yank on my wrist, he held me back just to stare. My mouth opened and my hands helped him out of his seat, "If we leave now, we can catch the current gamble happening. It's Yumemi vs. Kawaru Nutari, so I already know you have to see it at least."
Next thing I knew, we were both walking down the hall to the gamble in complete silence. You would think that the air would be tons of weight, crushing the both of us, but nothing was wrong. Once I got all his votes, he seemed more clingy to me for a reason I already knew of. I didn't mind it, because this was perfect as plan B for my goal.
Before we walked in, I stopped him to take out a box of cards. "What the hell are you doing with those?" He asked. My mouth stayed shut as my fingers took out an Ace of Spades gracefully, "I have an Ace of Heart, so you will take the Ace of Spades to hang around your neck." All my cards had holes punched into them, so all I did was take a little chain I had on hand and hung it around his neck with ease. His face spoke surprise, but those eyes reflected the ones I once started back at to kill and turn into this. He fell too easily for me, let him see that I don't do that...not again. While my mind was racing, his hand grabbed mine gently.
"You know shrimp, you can drop the act now. I've heard how you judge people and kill the ones that are guilty. Yet, you didn't kill me and now you're giving me another kind of your necklace, " he explained. My face didn't change when he finished talking, but his body stance changed with a small leaning motion towards me. Before he knew it, I covered his mouth with my hand. I exhaled deeply, "You want to see behind the "act" I'm putting up? You are seeing behind the act, this is me. If you develop feelings for me, I can not return them to you...not until my goal is met or until I die. My last partner was swayed by the mind of two corpses, so I've turned into this. I don't want to lead you on with a lie for that long, that is worst then death itself." My hand slowly lowered as we kept staring and our hands unclasped from each other. He nodded and we both walked into the auditorium to be met with a very familiar feeling of sweat and hidden anger.
{God DAMN, that was long!! I do like this ship I made, but I have a different thing in mind as a spin off one shot with Michi and Kirari or just stick with Ibara at the moment since I think Kaede fits better with Itsuki.}
