A knock at the door broke the silence and startled the contents of the room. The businessman was annoyed as he was in the middle of a massive wedge of paperwork.
"Come in" He answered.
A tall, well-built man walked in. His blue eyes shone from in the dull light. His brown hair was shaggy but in a cute way.
He had a single piercing in one ear."Hey, I'm new and your my boss, I haven't been assigned a project so I was wondering if you had anything for me?"
"Oh, sorry umm... I haven't been told your coming. Umm... work with Harry down the hall, he'll help you out" He answered.
The man then left the room to find Harry. Meanwhile the boss phoned the project manager and yelled at him for not telling him of the new employee, threatening being fired. Clearly this had happened before.
The new employee's name was Ben. Ben was new in the architecture business so he had small experience which meant he had to work extremely hard to get the job.
Now that he knew he wasn't known to the boss, he was worried that he may be fired. Knowing this made him uneasy when finally seeing Harry.
"Umm... I'm Ben, I'm new here, I was told to help you for the project" I said to a tall, dark man who's arms were muscular. He had a clear six pack which his top emphasised wonderfully. He was weirdly alluring. I was confused but kept a friendly face.
"Oh, hi I'm Harry. Pleasure to meet you." Harry then extends his arm for a shake. Harry continued "I work as the garage and parking lot designer, it pretty boring but it a job I'm getting paid for." He chuckled to himself.
His voice was deep and calming like a cats purr. It was satisfying to hear.
"Oh well, I suppose I have to start from the bottom up." I answered
"Yeah, that's not really how it works here. The only way you get a promotion is if a employee dies or leaves. Unfortunately, most people don't leave as they love their job or it's a good enough pay that they'll stick around." Harry said this in a quite cheery way which confused me.
A lot was confusing about a new job and a new sector of jobs so I expected it but the way I was feeling when I saw Harry was utterly disorienting. Obviously being the new employee, I basically sucked up to everyone: getting drinks and food, doing extra work, etc to create good impressions with everyone. Most people were dull but a few were young and lively people so the most likely I get along with.
About a week later, I was getting along well with a group of friends I had formed. Most were girls so we went shopping a lot and clubbing was fun. I wanted to learn more about Harry though and talk to him. This urge kept coming and it made me feel uncomfortable. "Why was I feeling this for a guy, I've been with girls and enjoyed it so I can't really like him, I just respect him as my 'boss'" I kept thinking this but the urges kept coming, it got to a point where I wanted to kiss him.
Yes, he was fun to work with and made the job as enjoyable as possible, he also taught quite a few things which would be handy for the profession. But I didn't see him being nice like that to anyone else and multiple people said that he must really like me because he never is that nice to anyone. I quickly realised he was the black sheep of the group. The lonely one that was kinda invisible to others. This made me feel pitiful for him and made the urges stronger.
My mind just kept thinking that I respect him and that's all but I knew something more was up. I found his voice so satisfying and loved hearing him talk, he does a lot of it. He was handsome and could probably get any girls he wanted. So I saw why I might feel love for him but was it really love.
