The door opened to the office. " Detective John, we got a new case." The man placed a folder on John's desk. The man and John made eye contact without saying anything for a couple minutes until the man spoke "Well I got to get back to my office. Have a nice day" The man walked out the door leaving John alone. John let out a long sigh. "The boss chose me. I guess this case was to complicated for the others." "Finally! We have arrived!" Shouted Jessica "Come here and help us unpack!" Trent said angrily as he struggled unpacking. "You're just mad that you're weak!" Jesse shouted back. Trent let out a groan as Jesse stared at him with a huge grin. Zach chuckled at the two yelling at each other as he took the box from Trent. "You guys are a funny couple." "Who said we were a couple?" Trent and Jesse yelled while blushing.
An hour later the kids were finished packing. Trent and Zach were talking next to the fireplace taking about fishing. Jesse was making her bed in her room. She notice a book in the corner of her eye. It was a book that looked like it was in a burnt down place. It was brown and it was breaking, the bands that held the book closed were slowly separating from each other. Jesse didn't want anything to happen but she was curious about the book. However Jesse just put it on a shelf as she didn't want to break it further.
Jesse went down stairs to where the boys were. "Hey Jes ya finished making your room?" Trent asked in a joking way. "Yeah" Jesse replied. She sat down next to Trent and started to talk to them about their plans for the next day.
The three talked for hours until it was midnight. The three went into their rooms for the night. Jesse went into the room and notice the book was on her bed. "That's strange I didn't put that there" she thought. Then she notice a piece of paper next to it "READ". She found it rather strange and decided to read it with the others. She put the book and the paper back in the shelf and said "I'll read you later with the boys." She went in bed thinking about what just happened. She was a bit confused about the book and where'd it came from. She stayed up the night thinking about.
