Their eyes, one pair a golden hue,

The other an ocean blue.

Meet across a barren sea,

Seemingly filled with a silent plea.

But oh so soon the seas returns,

And once more their eyes adjourn.

Their eyes, one pair a golden hue,

The other an ocean blue.

Now filled with knowledge and wonder,

One sets off to find the other.

Before night falls he crosses the sea,

Following his hearts endless glee.

Their eyes, one a golden hue,

The other an ocean blue.

Now feet apart they stand,

Slowly crossing the land.

His hand on her cheek it falls,

Her hand on his heart it calls.

Their eyes, one pair a golden hue,

The other an ocean blue.

He promises to return, only in this story he shan't.

Their eyes, one pair a golden hue,

The other an ocean blue.

She heads to the door, heart in her stomach,

The world she thought she knew turned atomic...

For the light has dimmed in his eyes,

Why do the good always have to die?

Months later you learn, as time flies,

She visits the grave where her love lies.

Carefully, as though not to stumble,

Caring twins wrapped up in a baby bundle.

She pulls down the blanket around their faces,

So that their father could see these precious graces...

Their eyes, one a golden hue the other an ocean blue
