June 28, 2020. It was 10:00 in morning, Jared just woke up from a deep sleep when his doctor accompanied by a nurse entered in his hospital room in the ICU. They were both wearing personal protective equipment and its really hard to recognize who they were with the same suits they wear.
"Hey Jared it's me Bernard your attending doctor so how are you this morning are you feeling better than yesterday?" the doctor greeted him with a happy and vibrant voice.
Although Jared recognized who he was he couldn't answer him verbally because of the tube connected to his throat. He felt a little bit weak and dizzy as well so he just nodded a little as a sign of response.
"Good. That's good to know. Am gonna check with you again later okay?" The doctor replied and gave some instructions to his nurse and after a while they both left the room.
Jared was in the ICU for three weeks already. He was tested positive with COVID - 19 last June 02, 2020 when he arrived Manila from Ormoc City riding in a van for hire with some passengers who were also hoping they can possibly return to their work abroad. They were tested and were brought to an isolation facility then when his positive result came out he and 4 other co-passengers in that van for hire including the driver who also had positive results were retained in the isolation facility for treatment. However, after 6 days it was Jared who developed symptoms with the virus. He got fever and cough and it was getting worst everyday until he got problems breathing so he was brought immediately to a hospital. He went straight to the ICU got intubated cause he was already experiencing severe respiratory problems. He didn't even get the chance to inform his son Jacob and his parents back in Ormoc about what happened with his travel to manila. Though he decided eventually not to tell them to spare the worries. Hoping that he will get well in no time. They were all hoping that everything did turn out fine and that Jared will be back to Canada safely as soon as possible.
