THE REALM OF VEGA

Chapter: 02.

   I didn't sleep till 2.50 a.m. That's why I was asleep in uncle B's car.

I woke up suddenly and shouted
" I'm awake, I'm awake..." And earned some giggles from my sister and my cousins.

" Since when were you awake ? " Emma asked between her giggles.

I didn't bother answering her as I was shocked to see no uncle B at the driver's seat. And there was a crowd of people outside the window and we were in front of the..................

Park.?

"The shooting star " my mouth shouted from nowhere .

Keep quiet,mouth!

" what?" The other three asked in unision with a confused look in their faces.
" N..nothing " for some reasons I didn't want to share what I saw last night. What if I really imagined it?

They'll tease me FOREVER!!. So I tend to keep my mouth shut.

To be sure, I stepped out to take a look.
" Alis don't go. Dad said to stay in the car." Emma warned.
I didn't look back.

I went near the crowd and saw.......

A big hole on the ground!! A clear mark to show that something crashed here previously. But nothing was in the medium-sized hole.

Then I felt something hit one of my feet. My mind screamed. I closed  my mouth to prevent shouting.

Please not rat. Not mouse. Not any of the scary gross insects...please

I slowly dropped my  gaze and saw a giant egg like thing and it was kinda weird. I gently picked it and examined it. The purple egg thing seemed to be guarded by 2 pairs of dark Gray tentacles.

Does octopus lay eggs?

I got a mini heart attack when I heard uncle B's voice calling for me. I quickly hid the egg-thingy in my bag
( not caring if it breaks ) and rushed to the car.

Uncle B started his safety lecture and warned me not to disobey him again.
I nodded and was thinking about something else.

I didn't imagined things after all..

I let out a sigh of relief when nobody questioned about the egg or saw it.

Then a thought stuck on my head.
What if it's an alien egg? What if there's a monster hidden in there ready to attack anyone at any moments now.

I thought of throwing it away from the window. No...it was so weirdly attractive . What if this thing cost millions of dollars and give me a chance to fullfill my dream of  having an adventure in Amazon rainforest.

Never mind now..

" what thought are you lost at ? " a familiar voice asked.

"Nothing" I replied Emma.

" Nothing-nothing or Something-nothing. You know there are two kinds of nothing in your vocabulary."
   She asked me.

" It's nothing-nothing " I said simply.

"You don't seem like it." She said leaning towards me.

" Ummm.... look we are here " I said quickly as I saw my house.

Emma glared at me. But I took no notice as I ran to my room and hid the egg in my closet.

I closed the door and when I was about to return I saw Amy standing at my room door.

My jaws dropped.

" so Gracie... What are you hiding "
She asked playfully.

She always gets me at the wrong time!! Little sisters are always trouble.!!

" look amy, if you keep this a secret then I'll show you what's in the closet. If something leaks you'll see the end of your barbies"

She looked shocked for a minute and said"Okay fine with me " and left without another word.

I let out a huge sigh of relief.

I went down and found out that my uncle and cousins are staying for lunch.

Emma didn't stop glaring at me. What if she founded out that I have a mystery egg hidden in my closet?

Well.... It won't be that bad to share secrets with her.

I made up my mind that if  she asks me I tell her.  If she doesn't care then let it be a secret.

Unfortunately after lunch Emma approached towards me and asked.
 
         I let out a deep sigh.

" Okay..I have a giant mystery egg hidden in my closet. You wanna have a look ? " I casually asked her .

She stared at me and  laughed ?

" Okay girl, I believe you. " she patted my  shoulder and bade me goodbye and went without looking back.

It really was not like her.

After they went I went upstairs to my room. I didn't notice my little sister following me until I heard her footsteps at the door.

" Okay Amy, what do you want? "
I asked her  completely annoyed.

" I need to know your little secret. "

" Well, if you think it's a little secret then why do you want to know?".
I tried to shoo her  off .

" I want to know about everything.then I'll become the most intelligent kid scientist in the world!"
She shouted. I could see excitement in her voice.

I rolled my eyes. I motioned her to come to me and I opened my closet for her to see the giant egg.

I expected her to gasp. But she just looked at the egg and then back at me.

" are you trying to hide your secret from me ? Where is it ? Show me this instance!!" She said stomping her foot on the ground.

" are you blind, little sis?"

" no , stop asking me questions and show me YOUR SECRET ALREADY!" She shouted.

"Oh Amy, the egg is obviously visible"  I said pointing my index towards it.

She was silent for a bit.

" Is that giant surprise egg' s your little  secret??" She asked looking a bit amused.

I really didn't want her involved in this. But I have to keep my promise. Or else she'll stay with me in my room  for one week just like last time. My punishment for betraying her once.

I took a deep breadth and told her what I saw last night. Then I told her how I got this egg.

She starred at me with her jaws dropped.

Then she said " I believe your silly joke big sister" and went away without another word. Just like Emma did.

I shook my head. I am such a stupid to tell everything openly to my  sister.

Stupid. Stupid.  Stupid .

She'll probably think I stole it from somewhere and making stories to hide my stealing .

Oh no!

Now she'll tell everything to mom and she'll think I'm going crazy.

I just threw my self on the  bed and decided to finish my story and not to think about anything else.
