Monday and Tuesday Exams

Monday morning Mikayla struggled with her body to get up, the events of the day just seemed so torturous, if you didn't know, today the fifth years have their Potions OWL. Mikayla was almost sure that she did extremely well on the written the exam, Neville caught up with her during Lunch informing her that he knew the answers for most of the questions, thanks to her help and that he has a really good feeling about Potions. Harry made a comment that he did great on the Polyjuice question before meowing at Hermione, making the foursome burst into tears laughing. For the practical, Mikayla had to make a Strengthening Solution, they had the room doing four different potions making it harder for people on the same table to cheat off each other. Marchbank circulated throughout the classroom, watching students, "Step away from your cauldrons, please, the examination is over." Marchbank called as Mikayla put her potion in a sample vial, she picked up her bag and followed Harry out of the room. "I think I did ok, scrapped a passed, I'd say." He admitted to Mikayla who congratulated him, saying that she's proud of him. Neville almost had a skip in his step passing the pair, he sent Mikayla a pair of thumbs up which made her smile.

Mikayla had just sat down at the Gryffindor table, when she was approached by two Slytherin's, Draco and Pansy. She put a polite smile on her face looking up at them, "we wanted to invite you to eat Lunch at the Slytherin table, to spend quality time with your sister..." Pansy spoke reluctantly, causing Harry, Ron and Hermione to look at Mikayla, "sure, I'll follow you over." she smiles, before the two Slytherin's walk over to their table. "You can't be serious.." Ron looked at Mikayla, "Avery's family, plus I can handle myself if they try something." Mikayla told them as she got and told them to come and get her when they're leaving the Hall to study, which Hermione promised to do. She walked towards the Slytherin table, Avery waved her over to sit in between her and Brian, which helped Mikayla relax a little, knowing she had two people she trusted by her side. Mikayla takes a seat, facing Draco who was in between Pansy and Blaise, "hi," she smiled, before she began placing food on her plate. "So, how do you guys think your exams have been going so far?" Mikayla asked trying to start conversation, Pansy rolled her eyes making a comment like 'stupid Gryffindors and tests' Mikayla didn't let her smile faultier though.

"Pretty well actually, Herbology could've gone better but who really cares about Herbology anyway?" Mikayla stayed silent at Draco's question because she likes Herbology and she knows that it's Neville's best subject. "How about you?" Draco questioned Mikayla, "I think I've done pretty well in all my exams so far..." Avery buts in, "by pretty well she means Outstandings in everything. She's a clever one my sister." Avery nudges Mikayla who nods agreeing with her but blushes out of embarrassment. "What's your plans for the summer Black?" Pansy asked, Mikayla turned to face her, "just spending time with my family and friends. No exciting plans set in stone just yet. What about you Pansy?" Pansy shuttered at Mikayla calling her by her actual name. Mikayla definitely felt unwelcome at the Slytherin table, she was receiving dirty looks from almost its entire population. "By family you mean the Weasels-" "Weasleys." Mikayla snapped and cut off Pansy, as she tried to insult the Weasleys. "Must be cosy with seven people sleeping in the one bed." A lot of the Slytherins snorted at Pansy comment, Draco looked at her disgusted. Mikayla looked at Avery, as to ask if it's ok for her to leave, Avery sadly nodded. "Excuse me Pugsy, but if I wanted to waste my time with an ugly cow, I'd spend more time with Toadface over there." Mikayla gestured to Umbridge, "now I'll make like the ends of your hair and split." There was a rumble of 'oh's' circulating around the nearby snakes as Mikayla got up, and rejoined the Gryffindors.

"Slimy... Puggy... Brat..." Mikayla mumbles as she takes a seat next to Hermione. "Take it didn't go well." Mikayla just shook her head no, as she angrily ate her food.

Once the foursome were finished eating, and by the foursome I mean Ron, they left the Great Hall and made their way up to Gryffindor Tower to study Care of Magical Creatures. Mikayla split from the others and made her way down to Hagrid's hut instead to tell him the bad news. She knocked on the door, and waited quietly for Hagrid to open the door, which he did once Fang started barking. Mikayla took a seat on Hagrid's couch, looking sadly, "Hagrid, I came to tell you in person that I'm not doing Care of Magical Creatures for my NEWTs as I don't need it for my future career, I am really sorry." Hagrid looked a little upset but he laughed it off, "I'm not mad at you Mikayla, you're focusing on your future and I'm very proud of how far you've come." Mikayla couldn't restrain herself, she gave Hagrid a hug, and before she knew it she was being pulled into a vision.

*skips vision cause I do be lazy sometimes xx*

"Hagrid, Wednesday night, Umbridge and some ministry officials will be coming here and they're going to try capture you!" "Try?" Hagrid questioned Mikayla, "well you ran into the forest and my vision ended, I'm assuming you got away. But I just wanted to warn you just incase they try and sneak up at you, it'll be around 12:30ish." Hagrid smiled giving Mikayla another hug, "thank you Mikayla, for the warning and coming down to tell me the truth about leaving my subject. You're very thoughtful." Mikayla smiled at Hagrid, "well my mum told me to take care of you." This made Hagrid laugh lightly, "course she did. Always on the ball your mum." Mikayla nodded agreeing with the man, "now you should head back up to the castle, so Umbridge can't give you detention." Mikayla agreed with Hagrid, saying goodbye, she almost left but turned back last minute, "and don't worry about Grawp, I'll keep an eye on him." Mikayla ran up to the castle and joined the others in study.

Mikayla's Care of Magical Creature's exam, for the practical they had to identify the difference between Knarls and Hedgehogs by finding the one Knarl in a sea of Hedgehogs. They had to show how to correctly handle a Bowtruckle, know how to feed and clean out a Fire Crap without suffering a severe burn. They had to choose from a wide variety of food, the diet they would give to a sick Unicorn. The examiner seemed really impressed with Mikayla and Harry, and dismissed them for the day.
