Jason POV

"Lightning? I don't know what you're talking about." I reply.

"You tried to take out the camera with it." She sighs. "Look, do you take fish oil pills?"

"What? No. Why?" I ask.

"Or eat seafood?"

"Well, yeah. Again, why?" I ask.

"Did anything unusual happen when you ate it?"

"No. Why?"

"Just checking a theory." She glances out the window. "Look. You dropped off the face of the Earth at age two, and then a couple years ago you ran around destroying stuff. If you were kidnapped-"

"What are you implying? That Percy kidnapped me?" She nods. "He didn't."

"Ok then. Someone will come by later with food. I have to take care of other things."

Panic flares in me. "Wait! Where's Piper?"

She doesn't reply.

Leo POV

I'm bored out of my mind, just sitting here in the white room. Then, the brown haired girl from earlier enters.

"Hey Leo. I'm Daisy Johnson."

"Hey. Um, I'm kind of hungry. Can you give me something?" I ask.

"Someone will be around with food soon." She replies. I sigh. "We need to know who your parents are. Your biological ones, I mean."

"Esperanza Valdez is my mom." I answer, fighting tears. "She died."

"What happened to her?" Daisy asks.

"A fire." I reply. "And my dad was a mechanic who wanted nothing to do with me."

"Your file says you were in the foster system?"

"Yeah. Since I was eight." I answer. "1 star, do not recommend."

"I get it. I was in foster care too." Daisy replies.

"What happened to your parents?" I ask.

"They died." She sighs. "But that's not why we're here." She sets an image on the table- Hazel, me and Frank leaving the museum where we found the Archimedes sphere. "A room collapsed that day, a room security didn't know existed." She sets the image of us standing in the parking lot after Percy and Annabeth fell to Tartarus. "An entire parking lot turned into a crater. And, I hate to bring this up, but the warehouse." She sets a copy of the police file on the table. I carefully avoid her eyes and the paper. "Tell me, Valdez. What do these have in common?"

Me. And fire.

When I don't respond, she continues. "So you had an accident at the Warehouse. And then you were in foster care. And then, years later, after moving from place to place, you're in Europe with no flight record, no passports, and a path of destruction." She stares at me for a moment. "What happened in Europe, Leo?"

"Well, me and my friends did some sight seeing. Italy is just beautiful in the summer, and-"

"This isn't a game! You're a suspected terrorist, Valdez." Terrorist? She sighs. "Look. One theory my agency has is that Jackson kidnapped you."

"Percy didn't kidnap me. I went of my own free will. We did the right thing." I snap, before realizing that, hey, blowing buildings isn't exactly good.

"What do you mean?"

"Kind of had to be there."

"Valdez-"

I fake a yawn. "I'm really tired. Can I go to sleep?"

"Just tell me-"

"Ok, goodnight." I lay down. I hear her sigh and walk away.

What did I get myself into?
