"Drogllo!" Lucifer barked, his voice carrying out sharp echoes throughout the deepest parts of the dark castle. Drogllo flew hastily from a cold stone ledge over-looking the stony hallway through iron bars.
"Yes, your majesty?" He asked solemnly, keeping his voice as steady as possible. Lucifer gave him a hard stare as he ran his eyes over the small dragon's body.
"You need to get that patched," He said, noting the tiny tear in one of Drogllo's wings.
Drogllo looked at his wing reflectively. A young girl - only about nine years old, had swiped at him with a knife when he came to torment her. He was only having a bit of fun.
"I'll see that Blackburn fixes it," Drogllo said. Blackburn was a fallen angel who specialized in healing powers - once for the good of the King until he turned himself over to Lucifer.
"Be sure you do, filthy beast," Lucifer said in disgust. He was in a foul mood, and Drogllo wondered why. He waited in silence as his master staggered like a drunken man over to a window. He gripped the ledge as he murmured chilling words that made no sense - even to the dragon. As he chanted, his handsome outer disguise diminished to the true beast that he was. Lucifer turned back to Drogllo after a moment, drool oozing through his pointed teeth. "I'll need your wings to work right if you're going to spy for me," He snarled. Drogllo recoiled slightly at the familiar and terrifying beast that stood before him.
"Spy, your majesty?" He asked timidly.
"Yes! You've done it plenty of times before. Or would you like a little lesson to teach you how to practice such a needed skill?" Lucifer's voice was drenched in malice and Drogllo immediately replied, "Oh no, your majesty, I will do as you ask as soon as you demand it and with all the skill I've gained over the years!" Drogllo knew what his master was capable of. If he so much as annoyed Lucifer, there was an extreme possibility of him being tortured in the dungeons where such horrors took place that even a wicked creature like himself could hardly imagine such evil practices.
Lucifer's mouth twisted sardonically as he said, "Good. I will have you keep a careful eye on Adriel Walter along with her entire family. But there is one, in particular, I want you to keep close attention to."
"Who is it, your majesty? Say the name and I will do exactly as you say."
Lucifer watched him with such cold eyes that Drogllo had to look away. "His name is Jose. He's a peculiar human that I suspect is a threat to us and our victims. Also," Lucifer said, "Watch Olive Hughs...she's a disgusting, conniving creature that I'd like gone."
Drogllo glanced up in surprise at his master's last words. "Olive? Why...she couldn't possibly be a threat to us! She's always been easy to manipulate and she never really..." Drogllo stopped at the look in Lucifer's eyes and bowed his head in fear. "Forgive me, your majesty, I did not mean to speak so rashly."
"Olive, is a threat and I want her to be kept away from the Walters and Jose as much as possible - as well as Victor. I don't need her lies spreading about!"
"Yes, your majesty."
Lucifer loomed over his glass sphere and spread his claws over it, rubbing the smooth surface in admiration. "I have been keeping a close eye on the Walters and Jose for some time, now." A sneer formed on his nasty lips. "And when they think I'm not watching...I still have my eye fixed on them!" He aggressively tapped the glass with a long claw and seemed almost ready to scratch it, but then pulled away, turning to look at Drogllo again. The dragon lowered his head under the speculation of his master.
"Go and do as you're told, Drogllo. I don't want anything happening without my knowing about it. And if you fail to succeed...I suppose I will no longer have any use for you." Lucifer said slyly, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
Drogllo stared up at his master, trembling. He knew what Lucifer would do with him if he did not carry out his duty exactly as he should. He would be killed.
"Yes, your majesty. I'll go right away." Drogllo began to turn, anxious to flee as far away as he could from the beast that stood before him.
"Make sure you get that wing fixed, first!" Lucifer shouted after him.
Drogllo soared out through an open window, heading for the angel quarters where Blackburn dwelled. As soon as the tear in his wing was patched, Drogllo would set off to be Lucifer's eye...prowling undercover in careful speculation of the Warriors and that mysterious man named Jose.
