“I don’t know why you thought you could trust a bunch of niggers,” Detective Bradley said sipping his morning coffee.
“All them mother fuckers are the same; they will lie without even thinking twice,” the white detective said openly.
“Not all of them,” Detective Nelson corrected his partner. “Ali is cool it’s that fucking G-money that’s giving us problems.”
“I say we bust that mother fucker’s head, and then maybe he’ll get the message,” Detective Bradley said not hiding the fact that he didn’t like black people.
“Yeah we do that and then we fuck up our money. I don’t know about you, but I like taking money from them every month,” Detective Nelson said placing a Winston between his lips.
“Me too, but with all those shootings, and people getting sent to the emergency room sooner or later somebody’s going to have to take the fall for that, cause it makes us look like we’re not doing our job.”
“Yeah you’re right about that. I think I’m going to have a little chat with our friend Ali,” Detective Nelson said as he picked up the phone in his office, and began dialing the number.

“Is this count straight,” Ali asked taking the small duffle bag from Butch.
“Yeah it’s all there,” Butch answered assuredly.
“Yo Mel, put this paper through the money machine and make sure it’s twenty,” Ali said tossing Big Mel the duffle bag. “If you keep running those projects how you’re doing, you’re going to be up for a promotion soon, you understand?” Ali asked trying to feel the young man out.
“That’s what I’m talking about, moving up the ladder. Maybe you can put me with Skip and the rest of the soldiers, so I can start putting in some work,” Butch said making a gun with his fingers.
“Easy young hopper, we take things one step at a time around here. Just be patient and you’ll get your turn,” Ali assured the young man. “So you’ve been following all the rules, right?”
“Yeah,” Butch answered quickly. “Nobody gets high or drunk while they on the clock. And nobody is to be strapped while they’re on the grind, just in case the boys roll up,” Butch said repeating the rules.
“And what’s the main rule?”
Butch raised his hand and said, “Chief, the crew is to be clean at all times while on the clock.”
“Remember those rules and you’ll last long in this business,” Ali said proudly.
“Yeah it’s all there boss man,” Big Mel cut in tossing the duffle bag back to Ali.
“Aight, get up outta here. G-money will swing through later with the re-up.”
“What time?” Butch asked foolishly.
“Whenever the fuck he get there,” Ali barked dismissing the young street thug. “We gotta start tightening up around here,” Ali said looking at Big Mel. “I’m checking up on all our spots tonight myself to make sure motherfuckers ain’t taking no short cuts or getting lazy, smell me?”
“Yeah I can dig it,” Big Mel said as he felt his cell phone vibrating. “Yo it’s that punk ass Detective,” he said tossing Ali the phone.
“What the fuck this motherfucker want?” Ali said out loud as he flipped open the cell phone. “How can I help you,” Ali answered.
“I’m going to skip through all the bullshit. Your boy, G-money, is out of control,” Detective Nelson said getting straight to the point. “If you don’t control your partner, then there’s little I can do for you. I’m trying to help you, seriously I am Ali, but you’re going to have to control that motherfucker or I’m going to have to come down on you and your team. And if I come, you know I’m coming hard! So please let’s avoid all of this, and continue to do good business together.”
“Listen, I understand what you’re saying, but you’re not the one out in them streets all day. That shit you talking about is easier said than done. I’m going to talk to G-money one more time, but you gotta keep in mind that in this business you can’t just talk everything out, you dig?”
“I hear what you’re saying, now hear what I’m saying, when people get shot and we don’t have a shooter my boss puts the pressure on me. And when he puts the pressure on me, I’m going to put the pressure on you and that’s just how it works,” Detective Nelson said flatly.
“Like I said, I will have a word with him Detective, you have a nice day,” Ali said ending the conversation.
