LEE

Can this day end already?! This place isn't how how the movies made it at all. I want to go back to my homeland. Amanda, where are you?
The English class was interesting, but Colum kept on passing note to me asking stupid questions like 'Yo jungle girl, do you really sleep in huts?' Or 'Yo jungle girl, how does it feel to have water? I heard Africa doesn't have water.' After the second note, I didn't bother to take the note from the guy that was passing it. How ignorant are these people? Or is it only blondes?
{A/N: Just so you know, I have nothing against blondes😘✌🏽}
Finally, the two hour English lesson was over. Thank God. From what I can see on my schedule, my next class is Trig. I don't like Mathematics at all. Not in any form. Algebra, Basic maths, Pre-Algebra, none of them. But what can I do? Nothing, so I walk to my locker to change my books. I see Chinelo at the locker already so I rush up to meet her.
"Nelo how was class for you?" I asked when I reached her.
"It was different. How was your own?"
"Well, there was this mumu that kept on asking me if I ride Simba to school. What is doing these people at all? I wanted to slap him into tomorrow but I'm not ready to fight now."
"They were also asking me the same thing. Even—" The bell rang before Chinelo could complete her sentence.
"We will meet in two hour, during lunch. We have a lot to talk about." Chinelo said and hurried away. I looked for my class but to no avail. Just when I was about to walk back the other way I came from, I saw my class. I barged into after searching for five minutes. Everyone turned to look at me like I'd grown two heads.
"Are you lost?" The teacher asked. Honestly, he looks miserable. Like he hates his life.
"I don't think so. Is this the 11th grade Trig class?"
"Yes, and you are late young madam." The teacher scolded.
"I'm sorry sir but I'm new so I got lost my way here." I apologized. I really hate being late to class. In Nigeria, you must stand outside the class when you are late. Don't even bother to enter the class.
"Introduce yourself then."
Introduction again?! Chai!
"My name is Ijeoma. You can call me Clementina. I'm African." I introduced myself for the third time today.
"You have such a weird name. Take your seat."
Wow, miserable much!
I took a seat at the back of the class and tried my best to pay attention for two hours. Like who in the world makes a person to sit in a miserable math class for two hours? Luckily for me, there was no Colum to annoy me or anyone to call me jungle girl.
After class, an Asian looking guy came up to me.
"Hey Clementina right?"
"Yeah."
"Hi I'm Lee.
"Nice to meet you Lee." I smiled at him. He has an Asian-American vibe about him. Dark hair, coffee brown eyes and a dimpled smile.
           Nice looking boy.
"Nice to meet you too. You know, we have few African students in this school so it's exciting to meet one. By the way, your dress is very pretty. You are very pretty. I think we will get along just fine."
"Okay?..."
Excited much?
"Sweet. What class do you have next?"
"Physical Ed." I answered after looking at my schedule.
"I also have Physical Ed. so let's go together." He started walking away but stopped abruptly.
"Do you have your P.E kit?"
"Huh?!"
"Your P.E kit! The clothes you are to wear for Physical Ed. ,do you have them?" He repeated.
"No I don't."
"Okay then. Let's go to Ariana, the school receptionist and see whether she has one for you." He leaded me to Ariana's office and knocked. After two seconds he entered.
"Hey Ariana." He greeted so casually. Ariana looked up from her computer and smiled.
"Lee, Clementina, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be getting ready for class? Don't tell me you got Clementina in trouble already." She asked these with a playful glare.
"No no no! She doesn't have an outfit for Physical Ed. so we came to get one."
"Oh I forgot! Sorry, my bad. Follow me this way Clementina. Don't touch anything Lee." Ariana led me to a room and picked out an outfit for me. I asked her how she knew it will fit and she said that it's a medium size so it will fit.
"Thank you Miss. Let's go Lee. I don't wanna be late again."
"You are most welcome. Why don't you call me Ariana? That's what everyone calls me."
"No can do. I'm fine with calling you miss. We will leave now." I grabbed Lee's arm and pulled him out of the office.
"Darling you are squeezing my arm."
"Who is he calling darling?" I muttered in Igbo.
"What did you say? Where you speaking some ancient language? Ouu teach me!" I can swear that for the fifteen minutes that I have known Lee he seems too jumpy and excited for my understanding. He is such a nice guy but he is always overly excited. Even I'm not this hyper.

                      🧡💛🧡

Jesus Christ! What the hell am I wearing? Is it a skirt or pant?
I keep on tugging the so called skirt down. I changed into the outfit Ariana gave me earlier. I was in the girls locker room with a bunch of naked girls. I felt odd changing in front of so many people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not shy. Besides, when I used to stay in the boarding house for a few days because of sports, I was changing in front of a lot of girls. Here is a place where almost everyone is looking at me like I've grown two heads. It's uncomfortable you know. And to make matters worse, the damn skirt wasn't doing a good job in covering my butt. I'm a slim girl, but I have a wide hip and big butt. African girls are well endowed. What can I say?
I heard a whistle which I'm assuming means that we should all get to the field now.
Deep breath! Deep breath! You got this. Ijeoma fears none and can rock a short skirt.
All the pep talk I gave myself flew out the window when I saw the field full of boys and girls.
Who am I kidding? I am finished today.
I shyly scooted to the bench and sat down. Good thing that this disgrace called a skirt has a short in it. I looked up and saw Lee waving vigorously at me. I grinned back shyly at him and he winked.
"Okay listen up. Everyone is going three laps today. Stand up and get in line. Go!" The coach yelled and blew his whistle. We all took off running. Lee was running beside me.
"Damn! You look hot!" Lee said and winked which made me laugh.
"What the hell Lee? You are so silly. And I have only known you for like an hour."
"I know I'm special, duh!" I shook my head and took off. In Nigeria, I played basketball for my school. I'm also an athlete so running laps like these isn't really a big deal for me. After the laps, he made us play volleyball next. Since I don't know how to play it, I was benched. When lunch time finally came, I was grateful to be out of that horrible skirt. I made my way to the locker room to change. As I was changing back into my dress, some girls came up to me.
"May I help you?" I asked when they stopped in front of me and glared.
"More like can we help you. This is our side so scoot to the loosers side." The brunette said. Apparently she seems like the leader.
"Uhhh... I don't see any name on this side. So if you will excuse me I will change and get going." I ignored them and continued changing. Someone yanked my hair though which made me turn.
"Didn't you hear what I said? Or are you deaf?" The brunette spat.
Breath girl breath!
"And didn't you also hear me? Or are you such a mumu that you don't understand English no more, hmm?" I picked my back and was walking away when I stopped abruptly and turned.
" Oh and if you wanted to touch my hair so badly, you could have asked me." I said. I heard her gasp and someone yell 'Burn' before I went to look for Lee.
These people should get ready for me cause I don't take shit from no body. All this has happened and it is only mid day. Oh God!
