On March 25th, Jinho called his partner into his office and it wasn't so that he could ask her out again.
In his hands, he held an envelope for her.
She looked at him with confusion and was expecting something work-related or something dirty, instead, she found a first-class plane ticket to Chicago and another one to Hawaii from Chicago and then back to Korea.
"Jinho-"
"You can't refuse. One, because I paid for it and there are no returns, two because it's a gift from me and your brother and three, you deserve it. I know it's a month early, but in May I'm 100% sure you'll find some excuse not to." She looked at the tickets and looked at her partner.
Without anything else to say, she gave him a smile.
"Thank you, Jinho."
"No problem, I really thought you would be fighting harder for this. I even considered paying for Celine's ticket but she has exams all of this month."
"Law school days, aren't you glad we're out of school?" Jihyun laughed, he shuddered at the thought of all the tests in the place he called hell.
"Go on, you have the next two and a half weeks off, we'll call if we have anything urgent you'll need to go over but I doubt we will. Have fun and do not think about work unless you absolutely need to. Go on, like now." Jihyun rolled her eyes and left the room, she didn't celebrate birthdays but it wasn't on her birthday so she thought she would be fine.
She hoped that she would be fine.

She arrived in Chicago on the 29th and was picked up by BTS' manager. She went to the hotel where Jungkook was the first to meet her, running through the halls to hug his big sister.
She laughed as he tumbled into her embrace. His arms wrapped tightly around her torso and his head resting on her shoulder.
Jungkook missed his older sister, a lot. He also missed his other family in Busan but with the two of them not seeing each other in 17 years, he missed her a lot.
He was glad that he got to see his sister regularly and even if he was on tour, they would text and facetime often, despite the time difference because the two of them really wanted to make up for lost time.
His brother wanted to see his older sister again but unlike Jungkook, he got to see his parents often and the two boys knew how their parents felt about Jihyun.
Junghyun more so than Jungkook.
Junghyun had a suspicion that his brother knew what was going on, but his brain just refused to comprehend it. Refused to put the pieces together, that his parents were not as perfect as he thought they were and some part of Junghyun wished he didn't either.
Because it really did change his relationship with his parents.
He still loved them, dearly, but he couldn't help but wonder why they would do that to the poor girl.
Jungkook smiled, pulling away from his sister and taking her suitcase.
"Come on! You're staying in my room with me." He said with a huge smile. The two of them walked into the hotel room and Jihyun immediately opened her bag to get her things for a shower.
"How was your flight?" Jungkook asked, sitting on the bed as she rummaged through her things.
"It was good, I slept most of the time though. I made up for the countless hours I spent up working on a new case."
